I just recently removed the center speaker from my system because it can only be positioned close to the floor and in the tv stand. So I'm going to go with a phantom center

When I ran ARC for my 5.1 system, it set my sub at -1 db and with a room gain of 3.0.

A little bit ago, I ran ARC for my current setup without a center channel, and it set my sub at -4 db and a room gain of 0.375.

Can someone explain why this would happen? Just trying to learn here. With such a decrease in room gain, is the bass going to suffer?

Does anyone know if the remote control apps for iOs and Android are already available? If not, when will they become available....?

I don't really have an answer for you but I will
Tell you that the ARC system is very sensitive to
Even the smallest variations in mic placement when
Measuring. I found this out the hard way.!

Wear several months before he left the new gamma mrx reading this wonderful forum from madrid Spain, and am pleased to read you, forgive my English. I'm buying a MRX 510, but here in Spain are extremely hard to come by, probably prompted in UK, my idea is to integrate a 5.1 magnat supremme 2000 (4 pcs) more sub magnat supreme 301a, the supreme 2000 have much SPL MAX , mounted drivers8 "

Mrx 510 work well with this type of speaker???

Happy year to all!! Loloololololoollool

I believe the iOS version may already be in the queue awaiting Apple's approval to post in the iOS App Store.

Hi.  I was wondering if anyone could help answer a question about the analog pass through.  If you feed a MRX 510 or 710 a 2-channel analog signal and set "Process Analog Audio Input = No" is there any output to the subwoofers?  Thanks.

1650 € its the best price for mrx 510 in Europe, i have, this price is for ITalian Shop,

No. There is no LFE output because that would be under bass management and would require ADDA conversion.

Not processing analog is as close to an analog passthrough as you can get for a receiver.

Definitely cost more in the UK.

Yes, the 510 should drive the Magnats with no problems.

I'm not sure if this has already been answered but when sending digital music (HDMI or coax) to the MRX 510/710 does it cut off the first second of each song?  This lag (due to buffering) is what happens with the new CA 651R/751R receivers and here is CA's response:

"The HDMI and digital inputs on the AV Receivers are buffered to improve longevity and stability. This is effective but means that the digital inputs have this lag- something that for films and TV isn't an issue. We generally encourage you to use analogue inputs for your audio sources."

It seems they don't plan to fix this "feature".  Can someone confirm that the Anthems do not have this issue.  Thanks.

Yes there is a second or two lag when I stream music via airplay. Little bit annoying

Most of my music listening is streamed via a Logitech Touch (connected via digital coax).

PS - does it only clip the beginning of the first track, or does it clip every track?
Just the first track. I usually just hit the back button to start over and its fine after that

Thanks. I could probably live with that depending on how bad the first clip is.

BTW, Anthem tried to deal with this issue years ago with the AVM20 (this is what I'm currently using). As I understood it, it was a muting circuit balancing act between avoiding pops at the start of a signal and avoiding clipping the content. Since there was no one solution that worked with every source component, Anthem gave the user a choice of 3 muting settings that the user could use to best suit their sources (I'd have to double check, but I want to say I can use a different setting for each input).

Edit: I just checked, each digital input on my AVM20 has a muting choice of MIN, MED, and MAX.

It's maybe 2 second max. But what's strange is that I have the apple tv connected via hdmi and also optical. I find that when going thru the optical, the delay is not evident

Maybe there's an extra delay on HDMI due to the handshake that takes place?

Ya most likely. This receiver is great though. Sound and ARC was a huge upgrade for me coming from a Denon and Audyssey.

No, that's not the case.  Since the lag also seems to occur with coax connections were HDCP handshaking is not an issue there must be another cause.

BTW, As far as I know, Japanese receivers have never had this "buffering" issue.  I don't understand why expensive boutique brands like CA and Anthem have had trouble with this for so long.

Hi everyone...

First of all I'm sorry for my bad English.

I'm living in Turkey and for me to have the product of Paradigm was very difficult but finally I made it :)

I have 1 pair of Paradigm monitor 11 v7 and Anthem MRX 710.

I would like to connect to PC and my receiver to my Amfi.

What are the best connections for stereo and movies? What are the settings that I should do on my Amfi and PC?

Thank you in advance

No, the subwoofer does not work in this mode
To make it work you have to enable the development

I currently have a standard 5.1 configuration with respect to the speakers, because in this new series you can make bi-amp, according to you there would be an improvement in quality for music and ht?
thanks

HDMI bitstream. Intel processors post Sandybridge all have onboard graphics and the corresponding mobos will have HDMI outs. Otherwise video cards from ATI HD49xx (maybe even 48xx) onward and Nvidia GTX of the same generation. Disable all enhancements on the audtio settings and it should just be digital passthrough.

Thank you for the reply...

I have the new i5 serries (4670k)

video card is :Asus 760 gtx directcu ii oc,

mainboard is :Asus z87-plus

I also have an external DAC Asus Xonar U3.

I connect with CHORD HDMI ADVANCE my PC to the Amplificator.

But my sailer says that for stereo is better to use an external DAC (I bought this before the Anthem and Paradigm). So for the stereo I connect USB to the optical input of the Ampli.

And when I want to listen music I clone the computer video through the DVI output of video card to the TV and for sound I use the Xonar U3 digital output.

What do you think about this connections? Is there any difference of listen music through HDMI and Optical?

Is better the optical out of the mainboard or of the DAC?

What did you guys save your graphs as so you can post them up here? I have some questions but the format is *.arc2?
Hi,
I'm a newbie to both this forum and Home Theater at its current, constantly changing technology. Over the last decade (+) I have cobbled together my Arcam AVR 200 with some Vandersteen 2ce's (unsigned) for fronts, 1b's for rears, and VCC-1 for my center channel. I have two subs, one a Rythmik downfiring 15" I built according to site plans, which is pretty amazing, and a Vandersteen V2W, which has remained idle since the intro of my Rythmik, due to the lack of bass mgmt. in both the receiver and sub. My Arcam serves as processor for a Rotel 1095 amp. My main source is an Oppo 83se. I love my setup...but I know there is room for improvement..and "the bug" has caught hold again. My wife would like to thank all of you on this thread for exacerbating my affliction and my re-discovered interest in upgrading, but her eyeballs are too busy rolling around in there sockets.
My questions are:
1) At the risk of starting controversy (IE. lets disable ARC for the moment, go to two channel music with the se's Sabre DAC), will there be any difference in sound quality from the Anthem VS. Arcam? Subjective assessment I know...but I'm interested in opinions.
2)The Vandersteens are very selfish speakers. There is a definite sweet spot, and they probably are not the best for HT. For music, I love them, and as I hog center stage on the sofa and to hell with everyone else, I don't care to replace them. I am wondering how ARC will work with the Vandersteens. Wouldn't microphone placement be limited to the "sweet spot," an admittedly narrow area, so as not to skew the measurements? Are my Vandersteens, and ARC compatible?
3) If I choose to sell my Rotel, will the 510 drive my system? Vandersteens are not particularly efficient. Impedance dips into 4 ohms, though I believe primarily in the treble region, so I don't really know how difficult a speaker they are to drive. My room is not large, the Rotel is really overkill but it buttresses my sense of manliness, so I'll probably keep it anyway... but I like the option of being able to remove it from my system in the future.

Call me old guy. I used to own a Sheffield Labs "Stop Digital Madness" T-shirt", eek.gif So I come to this kicking and screaming, yet somehow I'm going there anyway. I like my wires and cables and nest of insanity behind my cabinet, and I'm going to miss that. Y'all (I'm from the South by the way) handle me with kid gloves, but assume I am about as sophisticated as Fred Flintstone regarding current HT.
OK, maybe not that bad...I can still program a VCR.

Thanks to anyone and everyone, I look forward to hearing from you...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
