Hello!

My two choices are:

Toshiba 58L7300U

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-58L7300U-58-inch-1080p-Built-/dp/B00BP54M26/ref=sr_1_8?s=tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1383367657&sr=1-8

or

Samsung UN55F6300

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN55F6300-55-Inch-1080p-120Hz/dp/B00BCGRVX0/ref=sr_1_6?s=tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1383372760&sr=1-6

Which one is the better of the two?

Thank you in advance for all the help and replies!

Samsung.

Ditto, Samsung.

I had a hell of a bad experience with a C6300 in 2010.  Please make sure to test the gray scales and colors when you get it.  If you can't make it behave, you might not be able to.  At least in 2010, Samsung for the lower-mid end panels had a horrible panel lottery.

How come Samsung?

Toshiba is an also ran in the TV category. I'd call them a second or third tier manufacturer. Panasonic, Samsung, and maybe Sony are the industry leaders, the rest are just following. At this point Panny and Sammy are the only TV manufactures I'd buy from.

Not me.  I'd also buy from Sony and Sharp.

Sorry, from years of experience I would not touch a Sharp. While all manufacturers have slipped, Sony is a mere shadow of what it used to be, Panasonic seems to have the best build quality. Samsung is close but not quite there IMO.

For years, the Sharp Elite was the LCD to beat.  Hugely expensive, yes, but it had the LCD equivalent respect that the Pioneer Kuro had in the plasma world.
