Seeing lots of good deals on some Mitsubishi models

So I know that Mitsu is getting out of the projector market, and I'm seeing what look like some pretty good deals for them (like the HC8000 ~$1500).  I'm assuming places are just clearing these out since Mitsu is done.  Is that a good deal?  I had been looking at a lot of the DLPs in the $900-$1100 range.  Would the HC8000 blow a W1070 out of the water for picture quality?  I know it's a darker bulb, so takes a darker room and better setup space, but that can be arranged.

I've got the same question. I have a W1500 coming at $1200, a friend in the business, but the contrast ratio is liable to bother me since it's about the same as the W1070 and I'm used to my HW50. I need to upgrade for my other place. I can get a HC7900 for +- 1100 and the HC8000 for a tad more.

Be nice to have the additional lumens out of the W1500 but not that important as I only have a 10-11 ft throw.

Opinions?

Thanks!

Same boat- will there be genuine replacement bulbs or what is the real risk? Does it just make sense to buy 1 or 2 replacement bulbs up front?

Now that I'm looking around a bit more, I'm realizing that the HC5 can be had for ~$1800.  And if there's one thing I know about myself with AV equipment, I can always talk myself into spending just a bit more.

Gawd, the more I research projectors, the less I know what I want to do.
