HSU VTF2-MK4 or Outlaw LFM-1EX

trying to decide between these 2, the HSU is cheaper but less watts then the outlaw, need some opinions on these, room is 15x18, I would use it with a pair of golden ear aons, I am more music oriented, but some ht, thanks

The Outlaw will hit lower with more spl. It is the better choice out of those two. However, a few better choices than either for not much more money would be: SVS PB-12 NSD, HSU VTF-3 Mk-4, and the Power Sound Audio XV-15.

Blake, I would say the Outlaw EX is on the level with any of those subwoofers. The VTF2 won't be quite as powerful, but its using a slightly improved version of the same driver as the Outlaw which won't be as stressed due to less current and smaller enclosure, so I am guessing it won't achieve quite as high distortion levels as the Outlaw. In other words it should stay cleaner when pushed hard.

I definitely do not think it's the level of the ones I listed.

Another option worth considering in the same price range as the VTF-2 is the Rythmik LV12R.

Compare its performance to the PB12 or XV15 here at data-bass.com.

I've had my VTF2-Mk4 for 18 months now & love it. My living room is 14' x 18'. Just upgraded my towers to Polk RTi A7s & am immersed in rich beautiful bass! I didn't have the option to audition subs, had to go by what I read etc, couldn't be more pleased! Basically, whatever works for your budget I would imagine? biggrin.gif
