I think it was stated in this thread or maybe the MPC-HC thread to set the video levels to PC. So I have the settings as indicated in the snapshot... The video card is set to bypass and to go with whatever is in the application (which I assume means it follows whatever madVR tells it to (?).
But with this setup on my Dell 3007WFP monitor (haven't checked on the 1000 yet), I get hard clipping at 16 - 17 and at around 234, no matter what I set the brightness and contrast to in the madVR. Oddly enough, if I set madVR levels to 16-235, I can see all the way down to near 0 and up to 254 even if I turn the brightness control in madVR to -100 or contrast to +100. It basically seems like the settings are reversed, although its odd that at 16-235 levels I cannot make the lines not visible no matter where I set brightness and contrast in madVR.
I have also copied the LAV video settings so you guys can make sure I have that set correctly as well.
So it looks like there are three places to set the video level.... at the Geforce driver level, in madVR, and in LAV. How does one make sure only one of those is "active"? I see that I can set the Geforce driver to ignore its settings, but what about LAV settings vs madVR?Edited by hifiaudio2 - 12/4/13 at 10:29am
