This is a good thing to look into for at least 10 seconds, and then realize that it is futile. ;-)
Where can I research on what makse a DAC a good DAC. Why buy a DAC when the receiver has Burr Brown DAC?
It's not that the AVR has a Burr Brown DAC, because Burr Brown is just one of several makers of good DACs. Just about everybody who makes good DACs makes a few that are dirt cheap and work and that's about it. They still aren't that bad, So, don't judge DACs by brand name.
I think that when you buy an AVR you should look at the performance of the whole thing, and not the individual tiny little parts inside.
If you are interested in cleaner sound, things like loudspeakers and room acoustics vary more and make a bigger difference.
