PlayStation digital game codes for sale at Amazon

Linky.

With more options to buy digital games other than the PSN, no doubt we'll get some good, alternative sales down the line as well. The first batch of select titles will be sold for $5 off, with PS4 stuff eventually being added:

With the massive sizes of these next gen games, it's just not practical to go digital this gen.

It won't be perfect, but going all digital won't be as bad as you think on the PS4 because of the PlayGo feature. Unlike for say, PC, we'll be able to start a download and begin playing the game long before all of the content is on our console (within the hour I've heard). The rest of the data will continue being loaded and installed in the background.

Also, we can activate downloads from PCs and our phones so that content can be obtained while we aren't even at home, and I'm guessing Sony will eventually let us pre-dload games once they figure out how to better prevent people from unlocking the assets like they did with the digital version of GTAV.

I'm going to try and go all digital this gen, so Amazon access to files is a nice surprise for me. Three things though:

1. Hopefully we can input Amazon's digital game codes away from the PS4 so we can start the dloading process ASAP if we want.

2. Any Amazon disc sales and DLC promotions need to carry over to the digital side.

3. I would like a digital game to be released at the same time as the disc version, instead of only being offered when the PSN store gets it.

Will Amazon charge CA state sales tax on digital content? The PSN store doesn't, which is part of the reason I'm buying more digitally this past year.

I;ve bought PAIN DLC codes years ago on Amazon.

So maybe it's not so new.

Speaking of pain, its a pain entering the 20 digit dlc code. So I stopped using amazon.

If the game is at a good price, I don't mind the code. I also remember buying PS3 game codes on Amazon "back in the day," when they were running a special deal on something. It's too bad you still can't put these digital items into your wish list, which would make it easier to monitor prices/sales.

But if all retail games need to be fully installed, what's the difference ?

I will say that once your hard drive is almost full, having to delete a game, and later on re-download it can be a PITA, especially if you're dealing with a bandwidth cap, but other than that, I don't see how the size of the games factor in.

Here is a direct link to the PS4 digital content page at Amazon (no full games yet). I'll edit it into the first post.

I have to assume the full game codes will go up Friday at midnight? I don't see them missing out on selling them at launch.

There are currently 9 games you can purchase codes for on Amazon.

Not bad for day one. Unfortunately none of them qualify for the $5 discount promo.I wish NBA 2K14 was there however. Besides KZ SF that's the other full priced title I'm getting.

And so it begins. The following titles are $10 off if you buy the digital code from Amazon (the link is in the first post):

- Killzone: Shadowfall
- Knack
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Lego Marvel Super Heroes

The code for Lego Marvel Super Heroes is now $20 off at Amazon. I think I'll snag it as my first PS4 digital purchase from the site. It looks like a fun, family co-op game.

Here's a cool deal: get the PS4 digital version of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag for only $40. The following steps have been confirmed by several people at NeoGAF to work, and you do mot need a PS3.

- Order the PS3 digital version for $30 from Amazon.

- Once they send you your code, redeem it using your PS4, PS App, PC etc. You do not need to dload the PS3 version.

- After the code is redeemed, go to the PSN store and pay $10 to upgrade your PS3 copy to the PS4 digital copy.

- Download the PS4 version (20 GB) and have fun!

This deal ends today, so don't wait.
