Received my HW55 from AVS yesterday and got it up and running with no issues. I still need to get the alignment corrected and this being my first projector I'm pretty clueless. One big question I have has to do with the mount, a Chief Elite Universal. It came with a variety of screws and my question has to do with the three pieces (cone shaped) that attach directly to the projector holes. When I tighten them down there is a very slight amount of play, screws are all the way in, but the piece that attaches have a tiny bit of play in them. Is this okay or normal? The 3 arms attach to the pieces I am referring to. I'm just overly anal so just trying to confirm this is okay or if a slightly shorter screw would alleviate this. Screws are all the way in and tight and I thought a slightly shorter screw might be better. I am using the shortest screws that came with the kit that fit the holes in the projector.
Now, just need to reread the manual and work on the alignment issues. Picture is great, at least to me, right out of the box.
Easy fix for your screws as I had the same issue. Put a small washer in and then put the screws in tight. That should resolve the little play you have.
