Media Server using MyMovies

Thread Starter
I am working on setting up a media server for my new home theater system. I have a network 3TB hard drive and I want to use my movies to organize my movie collection. I need some advice. What formats does MyMovies support for both blu ray and DVDs? I would also like some suggestions on what software would be the best for ripping DVDs and blu ray movies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I rip all BDs to my HD using AnyDVDHD. There is a lot of discussion on this int eh HTPC forum.

I have played with my movies a couple of times an everytime it broke my server bad (not saying the software is flawed it is an ol WHS v1 software and I may have done something wrong) After the two server reloads I started playing with Mediabrowser. Let me just say I was happy. Then they started media browser 3 this year and let me say WOW. It is so close to perfect I can't stand it. I can now serve up all my entertainment to any computer, tablet, smartphone and xbox extender in the house. It has been very smooth. I can also access all my stuff via the web and my phones and tablets when I travel. I do not need 5 different formats for each movie. It handles everything server side. If I am on my phone it transcodes it down so I can get it over 3g or LTE or wifi.

Just saying check it out before you commit. As far as the format I run Shark's Codecs pack on my HTPC and it plays everything I throw at it. I will admit I am too lazy to rip down my own movies. Once I buy them I just grab a copy off the newsgroups.
