This is my first Newbie post here, and im trying to understand the Ajustements (Needed or not) when changing from 16:9 to 2.35:1 Aspect Ratio ???

I see some PJ have lens Memory some don't ??

Could anyone give me some info to sort the differences out ??

Does a CIH screen eliminate the need for Memory lens or man focus to resize image ???

Some articles to get you started:

If you decide to use the "Zoom Method" for CIH (which most people starting out do, because it's cheapest and easiest), you will zoom the image up when you watch a 2.35:1 movie, and zoom it back down when you watch a 1.85:1 movie or TV show. Lens memory in the projector will remember your zoom preferences so that you can switch between them with one button push, rather than manually adjusting the zoom every time. This is a convenience feature. It's helpful, but not required.

Yes thanks Josh !!

So on a (2.35:1 screen) from a 16:9 image going to 2.35:1, the image has to be zoomed to fit the 2.35:1 screen,...Is this what the panasonic does automatically ?

Yes, you magnify the image so that the left and right sides fill the screen and the black letterbox bars spill off the top and bottom. When watching 16:9 content, you'll want to reduce the size again so that the top and bottom of the 16:9 hit the top and bottom of the screen, leaving empty space on the sides.

If the projector has lens memories, you can program the zoom stopping points so that one button push will zoom the appropriate amount for your screen.
