Looking for some wall mount suggestions

I have a pair of ELT525 monitors that are going to be mounted on a wall in my garage. They are 12 pounds each. These from omnimount are the only ones I could really find that might work. The threads are 3/8"-16 though. The threads in the speakers are 1/4"-20. The others I have looked at look like they are made for speakers with a rounded back. Here's one example.

Getting the speakers mounted is the only thing remaining for this project.

I have seen and tried a number of mounting systems, and the one that I find superior is to simply mount a dedicated shelf on the wall and put the speaker on it.

I use 3/4 inch oak or similar wood and mount it using large right-angle brackets. You want the brackets screwed to the wall so that they will be hidden behind the speaker and then come out under the shelf.

When done that way they are invisible.

Use large wood screws, around #10 x 3" long, and use a stud finder to make sure you screw into the CENTER of a stud on each one. Pre-drill a 1/8" hole into each stud so the screw goes in readily and does not crack the stud. Use very short wood screws to attach the shelf to the bracket.

I use the rubber sheet material that is sold for lining RV shelves to go under the speaker; this provides some isolation and keeps the speakers from moving.

This also has the advantage that the shelves can accomodate other speakers if you ever want to change.

Great advice. I will definitely put this to good use.

I could do that on one side. The other will be a problem due to a door frame though. I'd like to be able to angle them down though which is that main thing I don't like about putting them of a shelf.
