Doh, guess I will be checking my sources when I get home lol. I thought apply to all was really apply to all... luckily I just have avr + hdmi active switch so just 2 sources to worry about.

PS - my HDD is being delivered from Samsung today! Now the trick will be getting to the USB on the back.... Installers for my wall mount left the back swing plate on, it doesnt fully get out of the way due to the mounting hardware getting in the way. I managed to blindly plug a USB stick in, hope I can have luck again.

Anyone know if I could plug a USB hub to the port so I can have both the HDD and USB stick available without fussing on the back panel? I'd be ok with only keeping one attached at a time. Or maybe a USB extension with female ends?

Why would you not use the 2 usb ports on the One Connect??? One is marked for hard drvies and one for usb's. I am sooooo jelious of you getting the hard drive, I will in Canada, so no hard drive for me it seems.

My HDD from Samsung shipped also. Will be here 12/23.

Any way someone can torrent it or because of the size, copy it to a hard drive and mail it to me? I'd gladly paypal you the cost of a hard drive and shipping! Samsung kinda screwed us Canadians on this.

Running the samples off the HDD...... WOW, this is why I bought the set. Its like looking out of a window. Boo to anyone that says you cant tell a difference between 1080p and 4K on a 55" set from normal distance of maybe 7'. The detail is amazing. Just got my Elysium BD today as well, mastered in 4K supposedly will be optimized for upscaling... we shall see.

I would think as the sets get more popular these drives may show up on ebay? Unfortunately I dont have the capability to get a copy made, this comes close to 60gb!

Hopefully a user on here can message me and we can work something out. I'll happily pay the person Paypal to buy a blank 60gb hard drive, copy the videos and mail it to me. A drive that size isn't worth much.

How do you guys feel about the 120hz? is the 4K> 240hz?

I enjoy how 240hz makes everything look 3d on my current set. I do not care for 3d with glasses.

http://www.engadget.com/2013/12/18/netflix-teases-4k-streaming-ces

BOOM.... Netflix will update their Smart Hub app to do 4k, good news that Amazon isnt the only one coming sooner rather than later. Now only if I could get sound to pass through ARC/optical for the netflix app.

Guys I have an issue. Last few days now on my antenna based connection for TV, the sound cuts out for a split second every 3-4 mins. I've tried all kinds of things to try and make it stop but I can't pinpoint it at all.

Anyone have any suggestions ??

Has anyone Ghosted the Samsung Drive to another drive, and have the Ghosted drive work, or did they put some kind of protection in place?
(Might be recommended anyways due to the high failure rate (within 2 years) of Samsung drives.)
Next question: what are you going to do with a Hard Drive if you're not using a computer on your TV? Encase the drive and make it an Exterior drive capable of inserting into the USB Port?

Which version of timescape did you buy, there are about 6 versions. I know the 2 hard drive versions, $199 and $299 I believe, play 4k on the 9000

Ps4 does not support 4k, so you can't output it. Sony has said it 'might' support 4k video steaming in the future.

Yeah I kinda figured that but asked. I don't believe that codec is true 4k and the Sammy will play as 1080p. The $199 is a true uncompressed 4k and plays no problem.

Impulse buy yesterday on 65F9000. It will be delivered on the 23rd. Couldn't believe the picture (both 1080p and UHD feeds) and current prices at Best Buy. It will replace a Panasonic 65vt25.

I'm currently planning how to rearrange my a/v setup. I have a couple questions and would appreciate any input:
1) Upconversion. I've used a DVDO video processor (max 1080p upconversion) on the vt25 for 480i DVD feed from an OPPO, and upconversion of 1080i/720 feeds from a HR24 (direct tv) or PS3 Netflix movies; and primarly to "zoom out" new feeds and logo on Fox News that created image retention on the plasma. I've read where the F9000 has excellent processing/upconversion. If so, I'm thinking that I'm better off removing the DVDO so that I don't get multiple upconversions (DVDO and then F9000 to UHD). I would run HDMI from components directly to "pass through" on pre processor (where if grabs the audio) and then HDMI to the F9000 for video. For those that have used the F9000, do you think I'm on the right track?
2). Optical digital audio. I'm sure the F9000 will do 5.1 sound for any applicable programming it grabs of it's own antenna or internet feed. But, if I run HDMI direct from the HR24 and PS3 to the F9000, will it also output 5.1 via the optical digital cable for inputting that audio to my pre processor. If it does, I can "clean up the path" and don't need to run HDMI to the preprocessor for those components, only for the OPPO blu rays that needs HDMI for Dolby True HD and DTS HD MA. Can anyone confirm the optical digital audio output includes 5.1 sound for programming input to F9000 via HDMI?

Thanks. Any input is appreciated.

I havent been able to get anything but stereo via ARC or optical out. I think there must be some limitation on smart hub since the netflix app says available in 5.1 but only plays stereo. Fine for watching tv shows on netflix but I need my 5.1 DD+ for any movies.

Thanks. Have you tried anything but internet apps over ARC/optical out? Also, don't know your internet speed; but I do know that if speed isn't high enough, audio can automatically be "down graded" at the source.

Tried apps and usb content. No OTA since we have cable. TV is hard wired via gigabit using a 30 down connection so speed isnt an issue. Just annoying to have a super HD stream but stereo audio lol.

If I have the same issue, I'll be an unhappy camper. I'll let you know after I get things up and running. Unfortunately they don't deliver until late Monday afternoon and our daughter's family arrives early Tuesday. My wife will kill me if I'm playing with the
new TV instead of the grandchildren.
