I waited for CES to see what Samsung was coming out with before I bought the current 55" F9000 and from what I read there was nothing earth shattering plus it seemed the price for the 2014 models wouldn't be released until they finally went on sale and I didn't want to wait another 3 months. I'm curious to see if they come out higher in price like they initially did and the 2013 models stay at the current price, then once the 2013 models inventory is depleted the price of the 2014's will be lowered. I'm more than happy with my purchase and have no regrets, it's an awesome TV! Bluray movies on it are unreal, the only thing I don't like is non HD channels as they look like garbage compared to HD channels but that is to be expected.

From everything I've read, the processor is in the one connect box. Plus, the faster processor is required for the new encryption scheme (h.265). Also, believe I've read where the new remote was part of this years evolution kit for the 2012 models. I think the new remote goes with the revamped smart hub.

what region are you in? US?

mainland Europe has no update yet.

Wild guess: 2007 is the US version of 2006 that was released in EU some time ago.

Unless Ohio has joined the EU, 2006 was also pushed to US displays. I've had 2006 for several weeks. Only change I was aware of was a newer version of the Netflix app.

I had v.2006 update when i went through the initial setup of the tv 10 days ago. I think 2007 is different than 2006 in the US.

Yes, it was "pushed" overnight. Can't say that I see any difference. For those that still had 2005, you will definitely appreciate the updated Netflix app. It looks sharp. Same one I've had on the PS3 since November.

My UN65F9000 updated to 2007 overnight. The picture seams to be the same, but I'm having trouble with my HDMI control now. My ARC no longer works and the Anynet+ doesn't see my Yamaha RXA-3020 receiver now. I can't get sound from the TV unless I use an optical cable now. I'm running everything through my receiver and only one HDMI cable to the TV in the HDMI 3 (ARC) input. If I tell the TV to use the TV speakers it tries to disconnect Anynet+ then errors out and says it's not connected. Then I lose sound all together even from my cable box, PS3 and Apple TV. If I disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV's HDMI port the sound will come back after a few seconds. I can also get the sound back by turning HDMI control off and back on in the receivers settings. Anyone else having issues like this?

Suggest you contact Samsung customer support. Can't say I have the same problem because I don't utilize ARC or Anynet+.

only mention of the new one connect I've heard is that it will be out when the 2014 models come out or shortly after and no confirmation on price. with the hard drive of 4K movies you have to register your tv with serial number and that puts you into the que for them to ship you one. I bought my 9000 around January 25th and my status for the hard drive still shows that the order is pending shipment. not sure why it's taking so long, you would think they already have the drives loaded and ready to ship but I guess not.

When you contact Samsung, you might want to politely remind them that people who spend this much money on a TV expect it to work reliably and consistently. Samsung just can't seem to get ARC working properly, and at this point in the game they have NO excuse not to. You would think their software engineers would do a better job of testing the firmware before sending it out.

And they actually expect 4K to take off and to make millions in sales??? Samsung saw the writing on the wall when Sony revealed over a year ago that their media box would only work with Sony TVs, so they should've gotten to work on their own version at that time so that owners of Samsung 4K sets would have content worthy of all those extra pixels. How on earth can these companies continue to survive when their management is so incredibly clueless? eek.gif

Agreed. However, I read recently that they are planning a new box that has other content on it including the most recent Star Trek movie. I think this will come with their new 2014 sets and I doubt it will work on ours until we get the new one connect box. In short they might be holding off to get us the new box when the new one connect is available but I am merely speculating
post #765 of 1270
Why wouldn't it work with our current One Connect box? I mean the movies they are shipping on the current HD are 4K so I would think it would work unless I'm missing something... which happens more than I'd like to admit smile.gif

HDMI 2.0 and Codec .265 for the 60 Frames Per Second.

Samsung Australia and Canada must be owned by the same cheapskate owners! Oh, they do give the extended 90 Warranty for Registering - like that's going to cost them!

It does, I know people who have used it. They did not even know they had the extra 90 days. Had a guy call me after his unit failed after 1 year and 35 days. He wanted a new TV and was hot. I asked if he registered online, he said yes. I said your unit was covered, he cooled down quick !

Finally watched a movie today, and it looks like 2007 broke my anynet+ too. Hdmi do not auto switch anymore, blah.

I have only had one issue with since the 2007 update, It would not play movies in 3D, I shut the TV down and turned it back on, then it was transmitting the 3D signal.

Before starting FW updates - remove ALL Input Cables - Optic is best not removed as some Members have pulled the cable and the socket out - besides it's an Output anyways.

Still think that is overkill/superstition... ive just left auto update on and dont have any issues with either update. You will be more likely to wear out your ports fwiw.

I am going to wait for the 2014 firmware update. smile.gif

Another thing since the 2007 update is my TV has started shut itself off at 11:45 am every day. I unplugged it for about an hour today in effort to see if the TV would reset. If it does it again tomorrow I'm going to give in and call Samsung. Since the 2007 update my issues are to date HDMI control, Anynet, ARC not working plus the TV shuts off. Not bad for a $4500 TV. wink.gif

Very weird. I am sure you must have a defective set, I have none of these issues. Do you have warranty coverage?

I would try a factory reset in the service menu sometimes after an update it pays to do this, might fix the problems your having and won't hurt.Just don't touch any of the other settings in there.
