What is confusing is I followed the d-nice protocol and assumed contrast around 80 was safe since that was his. I set mine there and saw IR at around 200 hours. Mine fades, but I can still get it from a logo with only about 10 minutes of watching. I really hate not being able to watch TV like a normal person. Is there a number of hours when the panel is aged and I can watch it without worrying?
D-Nice's "protocol" is not meant to be for IR but to age the panel for proper calibration. I have about 441 hours on mine and have watched NBA games with no problem. However, I have my contrast at 70 until I reach 500 then I will raise it to 72 for about another 200hrs. Basically I'll keep on dialing up slowly until see IR then dial it down if necessary.
