And I have a bunch of other devices that can play my high resolution BDs/BD ISOs if I want to.
I must say my XBOne experience has een nowhere near a nightmare. Overall it has been good. Except for the swapped rear and side surround channels from 5.1 content, everything has been pretty straight forward.
I'll trust that it is doing the full HD audio decode then.
Regarding the XBone, after the 2 days of downloading everything that should have been present on the machine when i bought it (over my poor internet connection) i've also had lots of strange bugs and slow downs and crashes (not just in game).
I also have a problem with some of the decisions M$ have made, which isn't a problem with the machine itself I know:-
(1). Tying everything down so tight that the user(owner) can't decide anything, the Xbox decides. To the point you can't even see what's on your hard drive or how full it is, or look at a list of downloads and order & cancel as you prefer.
(2). EVERYTHING is an optional download. That drove me nuts. Want to play a CD - download the app. Want to play a Bluray - download the app. Want to use the touted Skype program that's placed on the desktop.. you guessed it - download the app. Even the tutorial videos for the tour/hints/tips were streaming downloads, that you couldn't even pause to buffer.
I expected the day one Xbox patch & game patches (although i wasn't expecting that every game HAD to install to the harddrive for hours), but with that lot on top - my day one experience was a very poor experience.
Hmm, looking above I think I may have a bee in my bonnet today lol.
BF4 is supposed to have been fixed while I've been ignoring the machine, i'll try that and cheer myself back up :-)
Change of subject, back on topic.
