Agreed, except the smelly part.
I liked the movies, but the comics make them look like....comic books. Drama is so much better done in the comics, as well as scale and connecting with the characters. Now of course the comics have had years upon years to develop these things, but in the course of a few issues, the fact that these traits are so much better in the comics is very apparent. In my mind, the movies just haven't been taken seriously enough, and the focus has been spread too thinly. Both Wolverine movies have disappointed me. It seems as though Hugh Jackman has taken the character and made it his own, vs becoming the character and showing up who Wolverine and Logan are. Wolverine and The Phoenix Force are two of the most amazing characters in the Marvel universe, yet you wouldn't know it from the movies they're in. I personally want to see new direction, new directors, and new actors in all of these roles. I'd love to see Jackie Earle Haley cast as Wolverine(after he put on a bit of muscle) and a director known for storytelling and not big action flicks take the helm.
