There are a couple of guys in the Polk thread that use the A9's for surrounds and love them. The A9's are basically the same as the 12's in a different cabinet.

How about using one as a center in an HT? I have paradigms in the front, but I'm thinking that this would be much nicer than the CC I have....timbre matching I know, but I still think it would be an upgrade. Thoughts?

Amazing price for these speakers. I used to own a full HT RTi12 setup, with FX rear and CS something or other center. They are excellent speakers and will not disappoint. Bi-ampable as well. I sold them on C-list for more than Fry's is asking. Upgraded to massive audiophile speakers, so I don't have them anymore, but for the money...unbeatable.

Anyone know if any a/b reviews on these with other well known speakers? Salk our other forum darlings?

Try the Polk forum. Gazillions of threads on there about the RTi12 and their A9 replacements (RTi12 = A9 with a slightly different cabinet).

I did a A/B/C comparison with them alongside LS6 and Onix Reference 3s. All speakers had their strengths and weaknesses, so it basically came down to the source material, and what kind of music you like to listen too. We were partial to the LS6s overall (which is what I run now).

That's $100 cheaper than the lowest I have ever seen the RTi A9's for. Hot deal if you have a Fry's.

strange, but if you want them shipped, you can only buy one at a time.. if you put two in the cart you can't choose shipping.. so just buy one twice

Would it make a good center for HT?

I would say no if you're planning to use it with the Paradigm's in your sig. Something in the RTi range would be the best match.

I have brand new RTi A5s, CSI A6, and FXi A6s for my surround sound, if I plan on only using a Pioneer Elite SC-63 with no external amps, any reason to replace the RTi A5s with the RTi12s?

I would but I'd be looking for a good sub instead. Unless you're in an apartment.

I'm thinking you may not want the extra bass then if you don't want your neighbors to hang you.

So, has anyone received their Rti's yet?
