Somebody has one already? Didn't think they were available yet.

One one has one yet, but I like my threads to have a more professional look to them. Rather then, a owners thread from one guy that only posts once about how amazingly spectacular the image is, and then never comes back, and then there is no reference point for important information.

Things I am very interested in trying....

PC games at 4K output
&
My Oppo 103D - 1080P output vs 4K output to the projector.
post #7 of 1238
I am looking forward to watching the 4K remastered disc I grabbed. Battle field Los Angles and The Amazing Spider Man. I have watched them on my 4K Seiki but it's only 39in. Also looking forward to the performance of my Darbee with E-shift. I put a lot more work blacking out my room since I sold my BenQ so very excited to see inky blacks.

Are all 3 of these models pretty much exactly the same except for the lens bezel color and the 4910 having an extra year of warranty?

So any one have it in their hands?
post #17 of 1238
First impressions:

Its the greatest projector ever for the Money, competes with projectors that cost 10 times as much.
black levels are amazing with the new Intelligent Iris, blows the previous years models out of the water.
Colors are close enough not to worry about external processors, and wow, what a difference e-Shift 3 makes.

Actually no... I'm now told monday or tuesday frown.gif - guess non issue because the screen i bought at the beginning of november, which i was expecting yesterday is also delayed by a week. Will report back as soon as I get my grubby little hands on the piece.

Hopefully someone else can post their pics when they get theirs so i can live vicariously through them till next weekend.

Hey it just might be all those things. David Katzmaier from CNET has it as one of his most anticipated items of the year.

Looks like their website is down. Did anybody possibly download the manual before it went down?
post #22 of 1238
I have ordered it thru bestbuy. They loaned me the x55 meanwhile. Picture is amazing, no issues at all in 2d. I read gaming is not good because of lag?? So far I don't lag when I played bf4 of course I turn off 4k profile and noise reduction. This x55 does not have a game mode like the hw30es sony. Gaming looks like film picture. I can't get it to be sharp as if it were in game mode. Anybody knows this?? If the x500 will have a game mode? Or should I switch to dlp?? Btw i have a black diamond zero edge 2.25:1.so I need a projector that has lens memory.. thanks

Mine too!

First projector and super psyched. Big learning curve with screen, throws, anamorphic vs zoom, etc., etc. eek.gifbiggrin.gif

Terrible to have all these things to worry about, isn't it? wink.gifbiggrin.gif

Interesting to see new JVC PJ will cut out the edges when 4096 x 2160 signal is input and showing only 3840 x 2160 resolution.

I read somewhere that is is able to put out a 4096x2160 image at 24p and 3840x2160 at 60p.

Thebes, thank you. Updated 1st post with it.

Is there anything else we want on the first post?

If you look at the following brochure, you can check this remark - 'When the video input signal is at 4096 x 2160p, data above 3,840 is not displayed equally on the left and right.'

The above manual also tells the same thing.

I don't think there will be much material @ 4096X2160 anyhow as it is not a 16:9 ratio.

4096X2160 = ~ 17:9
3840X2160 = 16:9
3840X1646 = 21:9 (2.35:1 Scope Movies)
post #30 of 1238
But the better solution would be scaling it to 3840x2160 instead of cutting it out.
