Epson 5020UB vs 5030UB

Hello All,

I am new to projectors and planning on purchasing one of Epsons top-rated home cinema projectors, but I can't decide which one to get. I am torn between saving a little bit of money and getting a 5020UB (refurbished) through VisualApex.com for $1899, or spending the extra couple hundred and getting the new 5030UB for $2599. I understand that the 5030 is the new model for this year but I don't see much difference between the two other than a higher contrast ratio on the 5030. This is going to be a purchase that I plan on keeping for a long time, so I want to do it right. I don't mind spending the extra money if it would really be worth it. I'd like to get some opinions from you guys/gals on which one I should get, and why.

The biggest change is the ability to use frame interpolation while in 3D, which people claim makes the 3D picture much easier on the eyes. They also add a mode which makes old black and white films look more authentic to how they originally looked. If neither of those are big deals you'd be fine with the refurbished unit.

I wouldn't say those features are all that important to me, but I will be using this for gaming in addition to movies and TV, so I like that the 5030UB has a relatively low lag time (when properly set up) compared to the 5020...
