I'm new here.. just another idiot looking for a solution from the experts.
Hung a big LG tv on my wall and found out the speakers, which are mounted in the back of the unit, will radiate sound quite well through the entire house except for one spot.. The front of the TV where we are sitting. (what a stupid design).
So, I want to hook up some external speakers to the tv but it seams the only audio output is through an Optical Digital (Toslink?) connection. There is no way to just hook a pair of speakers to it..
I'm not some big audiophile who has to have 9.1.1 super duper 3d surround sound blasting at 1000 watts...
If the sound I got was on par with what the TV produces now, that would be fine with me.
Is there any device out there that is small enough to hide behind the tv (4 to 5 inch gap to wall), that will convert the optical digital to normal speaker connections?
Thanks so much!
