oh! I’m going to have to put my Columbo hat on. This new crowd over here sure has reved things up!
I hope EricH is reading this too!!!
I am only speculating based on the current 12" ported subwoofer flat pack which
has two 3" ports designed for 20hz tune @ 24" length.
Since Eric would probably only like to use 2 sheets of 4x8 MDF, an optimum size
for the uxl-18 would be: 23.5w x 30h x 30d. With these dimensions, we should have
a net enclosure of around 10 cubic feet which should give a tune of 17hz with
two 6" ports around 48" in length. Using PVC tubing would allow the tune to be
changed quite easily as long the enclosure is also designed to use 90 degree 6"
elbow joints. If we used three 4" ports, they could all be 25" length with no elbows
giving a tune of around 19hz.
Basically a reincarnation of an Epik Conquest sub...is what I would like Eric to build
