Dolby digital passthrough to TV optical out

Anyone know what TV's will pass through a dolby digital signal from all sources to the TV's optical out? I have heard that most TV's will only pass through dolby digital to the optical output if its from an OTA source. I am considering adding a Sonos play bar and rears in a hearth room but I don't want to do it unless it is receiving a DD signal form all my sources. I don't have the TV that will go in that room(am building the house so I don't even have the house yet) so I have flexibility.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Vizio, more than one, that have a menu setting on for digital out that is OFF PCM & Dolby digital out. I have a set of head going through a digital to analog converter. On PCM it works and on the Dolby it does not out but anything but sound. The input to the set is HDMI from a DirecTV DVR thats out puts Dolby. The DAC only works with PCM, converting a 2 channel PCM to analog stereo. Take from that what you will but in my mind thats Dolby pass through.
