Going to wait to see what's coming out of CES this year before deciding, but hopefully some new WISA-compatible speakers will be in my future, and maybe an anamorphic lens and a silver, AT screen if I move back into my big loft. (for eventual passive polarized 3D via two 1080p or 4k projectors).
Is there such a thing as passive 3D projection via a single projector? I'm pretty sure you need two, so that'd double the cost for the lenses (and the mounting complexity), but I think it might be worth it.
I hope there are some decent 1080p DLP projectors with laser and good constrast this year, and hopefully 120hz 3D. I might even take apart my BenQ w1070 when I get a new one and try to haxx0r it to support a variable gpu-sync'ed frame rate, ala G-sync. And then maybe overclock or retrofit the HDMI input port to support 1080p /120hz. Or maybe I'll just sell it and buy a 4k projector. Yeah, that sounds about right
