Subwoofer: Monoprice 10" (Product ID: 4928 )
Amplifier: AudioSource AMP-100
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V673
I have not purchased the amplifier and receiver yet. Subwoofer is already installed. Looking for some help understanding how to connect these correctly.
I think what needs to happen is:
1. RCA (i.e. subwoofer) cable between receiver's LFE output and amplifier's RCA line positive (red) terminal.
2. Setup amplifier in bridged mode (i.e. mono output).
3. Connect subwoofer positive and negative wires to BOTH positive terminals on amplifier.
I'm getting part of step 2 and all of step 3 from the amplifier manual, page 3 .
I think I want to use the LFE output - instead of say the bi-amp speaker outs or daisy chaining the subwoofer and speakers - because that's what allows for controlling the crossover frequency via the receiver. What I am confused about is should it just be a male to male single RCA connector between the receiver and amplifier or do I need to get a y-splitter RCA cable to connect between the receiver's LFE and the left/right input on the amplifier? Or am I just completely mixed up here?
Thanks in advance for your help.
