Where is the PS4 Titan Fall killer? - Page 6

"Jorgensen continued by explaining that the decision to go exclusive was made “a few years ago,” based on forecasts from the time on where Electronic Arts thought PlayStation and Xbox would be today. He also mentioned that they’re still “very comfortable” with that."

So EA figured Xbox would continue its dominance and gambled TF on it. Not sure why they didn't just announce from the get go the title was going to be exclusive to one console.

EA pisses me off for ruining game franchises in their desire to reap major profits from a titles success. Dragon Age Origins > DA2, ME1 + ME2 > ME3, Dead Space > Dead Space 2 > DS 3. I feel they influence too much of a dev just to try and become COD-levels of successful regardless of what the dev loses in terms of creativity.

They haven't truly been on a positive streak and have seemingly stumbled at almost every opportunity of success. They ought to just sit back and let their devs do all of the work and provide them the funds to be successful and worry less about being the next Activision/COD.

Also doesn't help some of the "tall tales" (Simcity cant be played offline) they've spun have back fired.

Yup after proving themselves with the Deadspace franchise they have Visceral Games regulated to making BF4 maps. Talk about wasting talent.

That might explain why many of the BF4 rush maps feel like you're walking down a narrow corridor cool.gif

They were waiting for MS to put a ring on it. smile.gif

Now that the beta has been released, we know TF will be more than only a solid title. I know lots of my XBox friends are embracing it with open arms after the disappointment with COD:Ghosts.

So ..where's the PS4 titan Fall killer? Almost tempted to sell my Ps4 and move back to Xbox (sigh).

Just get the game on 360, all the insider talk is that the 360 version looks very close to the Xbox One version. (Which could pass for a 360 title anyway) and that the two week delay was to prevent head to head comparisons from impacting the sales of the Xbox One version. (Like they did for Tomb Raider DE)

I see this with Game of Thrones (I'm a fan, but not trying to discuss here, just including it as an analogy). In a large minority of the hard-core fandom, everything wrong with the show compared to the book is due to the producers. Everything right is the book, the writers (who aren't producers), the actors, the set designers, etc. It doesn't matter how little they know about what is going on, or very obvious examples of things that go right that are clearly due to the producers, it's a very black and white kind of perception of what is good and bad.

I think it's very similar here. EA has made some (really) dumb moves, but it's hardly the all-or-nothing picture you get from people like this. Obviously the Sims launch and BF4 have been really poorly handled, and a lot of that is on EA. To not include DICE in the latter part of that is just closing your eyes.

Well, maybe we will see a new Dead Space on Gen4. I really hope so, DS3 was disappointing but I really like 1&2.

Sell your ps4 over one game? Just wait till there are more good games on xbox and buy one of those too. People are going to be playing Titanfall till the next one comes out so there is plenty of time to wait. Personally, I'll probably wait till Halo 5 comes out to buy one but no way am I selling my ps4 over one game. Too many playstation exclusives and multiplats coming out.

Over one game? Didn't you know the game lineup when you decided what console to purchase? Let MS have their moment with Titanfall and we'll have ours soon enough. I don't understand why everyone is worried about one game. I won't believe it till I see it, but a game moving that fast and with so much going on at once is bound to have some sort of issues at launch. I'd wait till the game is out a while before considering a purchase.

This thread is an interesting read for those interested in Titanfall. It is based on a Polygon article titled "Titanfall is the perfect game for people who are terrible at FPS's"

Watching all the gameplay videos, that was the impression I got, it looks fun but it rewards bad players way too much.

The game is very twitch-reaction centered. Boost jump feels like a distraction most of the time (at least in the Angeles map) and the titans serious are OP vs human players. The AI bots are few and far between so luckily you only die to human players. So far everything I've played feels like team deathmatch guised in an objectives based mission. Perhaps later levels will unlock far greater customization options...

If you suck at FPS, don't expect to be a super-star in this.

It sounds perfect for me! smile.gif

Seriously. I'm not that good. I play because it's still fun. I do get. Discouraged sometimes when everyone else is so much better than me. I don't have hours every day to invest in getting better. I jump in for a couple hours every other night.

The training wheels aspect just has zero appeal for me. I hate that BF4 has too strong of an aim assist. The masses will eat this thing up though.

Perfect aim assist for me is a slight slowdown near a target. It is all that is needed on consoles, this magnetic lock on that all shooters seem to be adding just annoys me.

^^^ im playing wrong then because i dont notice any assist in BF4

Battlefield has pretty strong aim assist, you can easily test it in the firing range. I tried playing with it off but it put me at such a strong disadvantage in 1v1 fights that I just couldn't leave it off.

KZ with no aim assist is best.

Is Killzone Shadow Fall the first console game with zero aim assist?

I am glad that Xbox one owners will have their exclusive competitive multiplayer shooter in a couple weeks. PS4 owners have had their's since launch, KZ:SF. I am expecting Titanfall to sell some consoles now that they have there shooter. Its too bad it wasn't a launch title since the xbox brand has been called the shooter box by xbox fans.

Killzone has some kind of assist, I felt it when playing the free weekend. It is very weak and I couldn't pinpoint just what was going on. The issue is that aiming speed is so slow in that game to make it feel heavy and it hurts the flow, but it has to be that slow for anyone to be able to actually hit people.

I can't agree with your assesment that the "aiming speed is so slow ... and it hurts the flow".confused.gif Maybe you were playing with the Purger, which is a big heavy mini-gun that spins up, so yes that is slow. Otherwise there is nothing slow about the aiming. The assult rifles and shot guns are certainly not slow.confused.gif

I played using the default carbine like gun.

I forgot, M.A.G. was another console fps with no auto aim, and it didn't have the problem of being slow. I miss that game, not even Battlefield 4 is able to come close to the epic moments I have had in Mag.

I never played MAG. Don't remember why I didn't.

You never played with a good team then. Battlefield has nothing on what MAG could manage for epic moments. Nothing like a squad of 8 holding off 60+ people rushing an objective, all the while over a hundred others can be seen fighting in the distance. It truly was something else...

I tried MAG in the beta and didn't like it at all. I miss G.R.A.W. I loved the mp of Homefront as well.
