I really don't care what you call. I have a VT50 by the way and absolutely everything I said is 100% true. I cannot get the TV to retain an image, though a brief menu retention was obtained during ISF Calbration of the set. I'm sure I could duplicate the result by turning settings up. But using ISF Day, ISF Night, THX Bright with the TV since, nothing in the examples I listed generated any image retention. I have tried; I gave up. In normal use, no channel bug, ticker or any such thing even retains briefly. Sorry.

Hopefully a combination of FALD, 10 bit and 4K will equal or surpass Kuro Plasma image quality.
Virtually nothing here is correct, but some of it has elements of truth.
Plasmas use too much power.
But they aren't thicker than direct LED sets. Weight is simply not a real issue in the real world (though it's nicer to have a lighter set to carry home, once it's in place, it's in place). Plasmas don't make heat, don't lose any meaningful light output over time, don't have shipping costs that matter (though again, lower would be better, it's trivial).
The reasons Panasonic dropped plasma have to do with a corporation in transition and the inability to run a plant so far below capacity without sustaining massive losses. Samsung will likely eventually follow suit, but only because the market doesn't demand it keep producing plasmas. LCD keeps getting better and there is little requirement the world have a tech with better viewing angles, somewhat better contrast, etc. Some might like plasma to continue, but that doesn't a market make....
Back to Vizio, which is trying to dominate markets.
