I'm going to jump from a 9.5G Kuro for one of these because of how the price to performance on these are amazing. Read HTMag or CNETs review of their prior local dimmers, look at the prices on the P series!
Finally...someone who gets it. Going back about 3 years, I owned the XVT474SV, one of the few Vizios that had their TruLED local dimming, and other than my old Pioneer CRT RPTV, it displayed one of the best pictures I have ever had the luxury of sitting infront of. I kick myself for selling it, but when you have a buyer who wants to give you $300.00 more than you paid, well I jumped on it. Anyways...
It's funny to see some of you going on and on and on and on about 3D..really? I would bet most of you are those same people that couldn't stand the thought of it a few years back, the same ones who bitched about it adding to the higher costs of sets, and how it was a gimmick. Great, time has passed and that "gimmick" caught you by surprise and you know enjoy it with your little ones and what not. But if you use it soooo much that you now won't buy a set because it doesn't hve 3D, I'd say you need to sit back. breathe, and look at what you're missing out on.
You keep your edge lit 3D garbage. 4K isn't a factor for me either, not until we have tons of content for it. But ANY local dimming set, especially at these prices, is worth a serious look. I paid $1,500.00 for my 47" Truled vizIo 3 years ago, and I can almost guarantee these new sets will be as good if not better for a fraction of that price, AND offer me more tech for future proofing. The set I had offered 3D, along with a couple of other vizios since, and I can't stand it. But kudos to those of you who pass on a great picture because it doesn't offer 3D. You're the consumer, you put your $ where you think it deserves to be, you are all but a small percentage of people that actually enjoy 3D. They didn't come by thus decision lightly, the facts are there, the majority don't waste their time and $ on it.
Have most of you non 3D haters actually ever seen a true full array local dimming set in action? I dare to say you have not, or you wouldn't be so quick to pass judgement. It's been a couple years since I've even posted here, and I come back to see how this forum went from mostly 3d hating, to the now current trend of 3D defenders. Move along, just as 3D will, it's future is bleak, I'm just repeating what a lot of you said 3 years ago
