Sony's maximizing profit margins buy holding back features on a fairly unique product. Not so much different than how Apple has done things with their iPhones and iPads. If you want 4K content now, you pony up the cash.

Unless there are more 4K options out in the market, we'll continue to see technology being held back but will be just "good enough" for now.

Very true but seeing as samsung is offering a hard drive instead I wonder which is the better deal.
