i have not a clear answer but i guess that you use different video settings for your video software (power dvd?) that you do at the desktop.
can you do a test and calibrate with the internal patterns from chroma pure?

it should show the red tint if this is right.
Red tint shows on all patterns 10 - 100 it lessens the higher it gets.
I have also used the oppo 93 blu ray player to rule out the htpc causing problems, i have used avshd 709 dvd and mp4 patterns and the chromapure one.
the meter/s don't show up the red tint, its really weird (maybe my eyes have red filters on !)
Before your reset did your meter show high reds and then normal after reset?
Thanks for the advice, I will try the internal patterns when i have time and post back when done.
