The old thread seems to be missing and a new generation calls for a new thread anyway...

Please refrain from quoting the pictures in a post, it clutters the thread.

Nice, time to do some dusting and take a few pictures.

Here is a montage of my space... before and after smile.gif My day job has been in audio/video production and I finally got around to building a home studio a few years ago.

I have added furniture and made a few mods since the pics were taken...

It's basically a 26' x 16' space with 8' ceilings and a two level floor.

- I have felt covered RUXUL RB60 4'x 2' x 4" panels on the side walls to control flutter and tame the majot LF standing waves. Have not needed to do anything else thanks to the mixed materials used in the construction.
- Sound system consists of JBL Control 5 monitors all around powered by a Yamaha RX-2020 and a BIC-12 sub
- Sony SXRD vw90es projector on a 10' wide 2.40:1 format screen

The desk area is in the rear area of the space and is my home office - work station for work and gaming...
- MacPro with 2x Dell 27" monitors & a Logitech G510 keyboard for gaming
- Yamaha NS-10M monitors powered by a Hafler amp

Only regrets as far as the construction... I wish I had run 120v to each speaker location so I would have had the option of running an active sound reinforcement. There is always something you forget to consider.

Bytehoven, that looks awesome! How's gaming in the PJ? I used to have a Panasonic AE900 that made games pretty awesome.

Looks like it's time to dust off the DSLR.

That is the Pokemon Manga (Adventures) I have every volume released in English so far. It is a very solid story where Red becomes champion, and grows older! I also have the complete Electric Tales of Pikachu series as well.

I'll take a better picture once I am finished moving, the shelves are piled up right now with some of the newer stuff I have gotten over the last year...

Gaming on the projector is great but there is a bit more lag than playing on a desktop monitor. Even with the Sony Motion Flow OFF. The game can be so much more immersive that I have to take a break from the adrenaline over load.

I had been without a home theater for over a year during the construction, so BC2 was the last game I played on a projector. I had only owned the vw90 a few months, upgrading from the HS10, when we started construction in the spring of 2012 and then the vw90 sat in a box for a year. I should have sold it and bought the vw95 when I was ready to set everything back up.

During the down time, I got into some MMO gaming on the MacPro. I played SWTOR, STO, TSW and GW2. I still have accounts for STO, GW2 and TSW but hardly play them. I have a dedicated Windows HDD on the MacPro so I can hard boot it as a PC.

Oh boy... that is a complicated one. Anime is animated, manga is a comic. In most cases the manga comes first and if popular an anime is made. Often the manga is still not finished so they either make the anime anyway and when they catch up they have a few choices. Wrap up the anime at a decent stopping point and wait for it to catch up, make filler content until the manga gets further along, or make a whole new story different from the manga. Filler is the most common choice for popular shows as it gives them even more episodes to make money on.

In the case of Pokemon, the games came first, then the anime, then the manga. The Pokemon Adventures manga are based on the games, but go in a very different direction for a better story. The Electric Tale of Pikachu is a manga based on the anime and is a what if Ash wasn't a joke scenario.

I concur about the projector. I absolutely love gaming with it, but for the 360 I like it on my 42' because the graphics look better. With the next gen console the visual quality supports a 120" screen better in my opinion.

Definitely agree with that. The problem I always had with my Panny AE900, aside from it being 720p (not a huge deal last gen) was the Smooth Screen technology. While it meant that you could sit closer as the pixels blended together, it also meant that you felt it was never quite in focus. This made it a chore for some games after awhile, as everything just started to look blurry. It was great for movies, but I needed something that looked sharp for everything, so I decided on a 50-inch plasma. I'm sure one day I'll have a projector again, but for the now the plasma still blows me away in terms of picture quality, especially calibrated.

Yeah, I googled and saw Manga's were comics versus Anime for Japanese cartoons so I deleted my post. Thanks.

I bought my kids a 4 movie Pokemon blu-ray for Christmas for $5. I can't complain. They watched one so far with "the voice of the forest" Pokemon that travels in time.

Thank you, the SPL levels you must be able to obtain are likely more than visceral, more like bowel movement inducing. biggrin.gif
