There isn't a "best" antenna for HDTV. You should get the appropriate antenna for your location. Go to TVFool.com and get an idea. Post the results here for a recommendation.
Probable... the existing coax is probably RG6 and should be just fine. Depending on your location, the Dish antenna may not be installed at the same location where an antenna would be optimal.
As for "other equipment".... who knows?
At a minimum you'll need an antenna, maybe some splitters and TV's and/or external ATSC/OTA with tuners. And......... a ladder.
Oops... and a mast and probably a mounting bracket. Depending on the location where the antenna will be located the mounting bracket could differ.Edited by Ratman - 1/13/14 at 10:17am
