One of the advantages of using a medium throw driver is that they tend to be fairly efficient. At least as efficient as you can use the term when describing a sealed design.
When using the 200w amp we get the drivers very close to their excursion limits with material in the 20-30hz range.
So power is only as relevant as it translates into the desired excursion. A single 12" driver would need to be able to pull off over 2" peak to peak excursions to match the two drivers included in this design in that region.
And it would more than likely require a lot more power to do so.

I believe those amps were The Vistar SD 50 and SD 25 which were rated by it's manufacturer as 500w rms and 250w rms respectively.
I have had experience with Vistar and Elytone as well as Keiga and I find the amps we are using to be very comparable.
Also, class D amps tend to tout higher peak power ratings than 3db of dynamic headroom. But I chose not to inflate our ratings any higher than we were absolutely certain of.
So the short answer:
Yes, they're pretty darn loud.
