New to home theater set up and bought a new home recently that is prewired for a 5 speaker in ceiling surround sound. Its in the family room ( 9in ceiling) which is an open room and I have a 58 in LED placed just above the fireplace.
I have been trying to do some research and sounds like the in ceiling is not the best way to go but for a newbie like me anything would be better than the sound from my tv speakers. I was reading that angled woofers are the way to go and I was looking at monoprice 4929 speakers (maybe all 5 or three for LCR and two 4104 for the rears).
Please let me know if you have any other suggestions? I don't plan on spending more than $100/speaker
Also any suggestions on a good powered sub that would go with the monoprice speakers?
I have a yamaha 475 receiver already.
thanks for the help
