Pre-ordered! "Can't wait!" -Bart Scott

Didn't see it at the cinema, so looking forward to viewing it at home. I may even host a party for this one based on the excitement generated here.

From what I'm reading the 3D version is also in 2.35.

I have separate 1.78 and 2.35 setups, with 1.78 being my 3D room. I also hoped for it to be in 1.78 3D!

I found the movie itself very bland but I'm sure this will look fantastic on Blu.

For someone who suffers from anxiety, I appreciated the extra few seconds per scene. It had me on my toes, likely moreso than other audience members. I also cried in one part of the movie, although I was going through a weird girlfriend scenario at the time, it may have had me more emotional than normal. smile.gif

Looking forward to Mr. Ralph's review on this one.

I do have the 3D version pre-ordered.

Did not get a chance to seeing it in the theater so I am anxious to see this.

4 more weeks.

We saw this at two different theaters. 3D both times. I thought it was excellent. The ending was wonderfully meaningful and enigmatic without calling attention to itself.
I think this will be considered one of the great movies someday. Despite a couple of betrayals of physical realities. One that was crucial to the plot and should have been "fixed".

Sandra Bullock did no scene chewing. She let us imagine that this was all really happening. And George was perfect. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
(I love the joke that George would rather be released into open space than be stuck with a woman his own age.)
And the 3D was excellent. It seemed more like the 3D we see in real life than some 3D movies.

I would preorder but I hope to find it cheaper than the preorder price.

I, too, am looking forward to Ralph's review.

Seriously? With more and more releases featuring 7.1 I'm disappointed for the step backwards, IMO. I keep hoping that I'll start seeing 9.1+ encoding sometime soon. cool.gif

You and me both bass addict!

But I'd really like to see more 11.1+'s...! tongue.gif

DEFINITELY GETTING THIS 3D!!! I hope I was clear on that! cool.gifcool.gifcool.gif

Can't believe many on here never went to see it... I am soooo happy I did...just a marvelous, marvelous 3D spectacle that flies by in no-time! Hope you guys love it as much!

And, yes, Ralph, looking forward to your review as well! wink.gif

My dad is preordering the movie this month and i can't wait for the 3d bluray. Hopefully the menu screen isn't like other warner releases with that crappy still menu selection. Also no trailers for Gravity on disc but what trailers will be shown before it?
Like Scott said, why is this being released in 5.1 instead of 7.1???

Me, too!

I've read that this film is best viewed in 3D, and on the largest screen possible. I missed it at the theaters, so hope it looks at least pretty good in 3D on my 60" plasma screen.

Me, three!
I saw it twice at 2 different theaters, 3D both times. Excellent movie. Great use of 3D.

Look forward to the review Mr. Ralph!

Will be watching on a Samsung PN-60E7000 60" Plasma.

This one does seem like it will rate buying the 3D version.

If one has the equipment of course.

Definitely anxious to hear your thoughts on it, Ralph, especially with all the negativity being posted regarding this release found in the thread below:

Greetings,

Sure thing oz. I just read through that thread and am of the mindset that jumping to conclusions based upon it's contents is premature. I will be viewing it tonight and will go from there.

No doubt. I am much more interested to read from those who have simply watched it in motion as we normally do. If there are any significant and obvious issues, they will be seen and if not, they wont. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I read the negativity but another website is praising the video quality. The ones that is praising it actually had the disc, not downloaded to a PC.

Can't wait to read it Mr. Ralph!

Ralph: Just watched the movie, jaw dropping to say the least. I have always liked space movies and this one doesn't disappoint.. Lots of actin crammed into 90 minutes of film.. I enjoyed it with my 100" screen and the new JVC PJ..Might have to give a 2nd showing about 4pm today for neighbor and older son.. Surrounds were very good, lots of Mission Control chatter.. got to go now and get out my snow shovel (again) for the 13th storm of the winter..

Greetings,

Glad to hear you enjoyed it Matt!

The storm has been downgraded significantly up here so I am not preparing my snow blower...wink.gif
