Front Right Speaker Problem

Good afternoon,

I have a problem with my front right speaker... It will play fine when I turn the receiver on but will cut off within a minute or so.

I have a 7.1 in-wall speaker setup with the following pieces:

TV:
Panasonic 65" plasma (TC-P65VT50)

Receiver:
Yamaha RX-V573

Speakers:
Front L/R - Micca M-8S
Front C - Micca M-CS
Surround L/R - Micca M-8S
Back L/R (ceiling) - Micca M-8C

So far, I've tried a couple tests... neither fixing the issue.

* 1st tried to run a new separate cable from receiver to speaker (not behind the wall)
* 2nd used a brand new Front Right speaker connecting to both the in-wall cable and cable run not behind the wall

Not sure what (or where) the issue is. It will start just fine once the receiver is turned off and on... Just doesn't last much more then a minute.

Appreciate any ideas or additional tests I could try.

Thanks!

Try reversing speakers. Connect R to the L receiver output and L to the R receiver output. This will tell whether the problem is in the speaker or the receiver because the problem should follow either the speaker or the receiver amp.

Thanks. Will test in couple mins and report back.

It took longer then before but the left eventually cut off. So it appears an issue with the front right receiver output.

I have screw lock banana plugs on the 14 gauge wire... But when connecting a new line from receiver to speaker (not behind the wall) I used a new pair of plugs.

Can a receiver just crap out like that? Or could there be something I can fix with the connection? Would it be worth trying connecting wire to receiver without the banana plug?

I've had the receiver less then a year and the new room (unfortunately) hasn't gotten a lot of use with a 3 year and 6 month old in the house.

Thanks again

Took off the banana plugs and connected wire directly into front right connections... Thought it fixed the prob because it worked for a while... but then stopped.

Was hoping the banana plug connection was just dropping.

Not sure what the next step is.
