Those things look sweet! I guess this answers the question I had on another thread about which drivers Nick was referring to when he said he was just building the only two 18"s that will be sold to a customer.
Are you going to tell us how much they cost you so that the bitterness of the fact that they won't actually go into production can settle in even further?
Will the one on the left look like the one on the right when it's done? : )

Dang! That be looking like a real nice 18"

I really dont want to cause any more bitterness smile.gif. Lets just say data-bass is in the ballpark.

That being said, I am really really excited. Nick said he was really taking his time with these. He also has made mention of how much actual time these take to assemble and measure and double triple check everything.

Side note, one of my distribution partners (who reps Behringer) showed 70 inuke12000DSP in STOCK! So I ordered one. We will see what happens.

Reading the spec sheet it looks like a powercon 32A connector, (but it says sold separately!?)

"Delivered with Neutrik*
powerCON 32A* twist-lock
connector (cable not included)"

I should have added a smiley! smile.gif Just envious is all!
I can't wait to hear your impressions of them!

So wait, you are getting the only two 18 HSTs in existence, and, you have a distributon partner who has access to the new 12000 DSP. I might actually start to hate you wink.gif

If you look at what I said closely, I don't think you would hope so. wink.gif

I knew you were just messing smile.gif I have owned lots of subs, but never have I owned essentially the only of a line of drivers. I really was looking for the baddest 18 sub that wasn't used in a ton of builds on avs so far. I was really down to the fi sp4 and the hst. I had no idea I would be getting the only pair!

.

I design commercial AV systems for a living, so I get to play with gear quite a bit. If I had endless money, maybe I would nab a lab or a powersoft. But, I do have a budget, and the I nukes and ipr2 of the world are appealing. The upside I can offer you is I might have an ipr7500dsp up for sale soon. Lemonade from lemons? tongue.gif

My babies are born.... *Shedding a tear*

Nick tested drivers to full excursion and commented on how much he loves to see these things move. Excursion was clean with no issues. They should ship today.

I am waiting for a video from him showing them in action.

Thanks DTS. I am very excited. I have been on a quest for the uber 18" ported sub and I finally am seeing it come together. Its been a fun process, I learned a lot, and I look forward to getting to listen to these beasts. Nick has been so great to work with and has communicated every step with documentation and informative emails. Great experience. I actually bought (4) of the SI HT 18's just because I have had such a great experience with Nick and SI. Who knows what I might use them for, but I like options. biggrin.gif

You guys crack me up.

Well, it's powered up and making bass. That's good. I won't be able to do much more than that as I am powering a single lilwrecker at the time loaded with a single alpine type s.

My diy power cord looks like a tow rope for a car hauler!

Also...my wife was none to pleased the first thing I did when I got hope was unload an amp on the counter in the kitchen and drill it open and take pics. "For the forum?" She asked...

cool.gif Guilty.
