Which turntable to choose, Music Hall mmf2.2 or Pro-ject Debut Carbon

Hello everyone,

I got to replace my old turntable and my choice stopped at either Music Hall mmf2.2 or Pro-ject Debut Carbon.

I read great review about the Pro-ject Debut Carbon, however I mainly listening at some Rock, Alternative and some Country music. Some of the review I read complains about the lack of kick when listening at this music type.

My new turntable will be connect to my Stereo Rotel RC-1070 pre amp with power amp RB-1070.

Do you guys have any advise concerning those two turntable ?

Thank you

This isn't really what you want to hear, but there isn't a lot to choose between them. Partisans can give you specious arguments for one or the other, but you'd do just as well to flip a coin. If it helps, you can't go wrong either way.

And Pro-Ject makes the turntables for Music Hall, so there is likely to more in common than;) different!

Right. Same basic design, and made in the same factory.

The turntables are quite similar, but I am partial to the Music Hall version.

Any sonic differences will be between the cartridges that come with them, which are pretty basic.

You can spend $200-300 for a better cartridge and that will be a major sonic upgrade for either one.

A Musical Fidelity V90 LPS phono stage will also be a big improvement.
