HT of the Month: Staggered Walls - Page 2

I followed this build and loved it from the start. One of those "Hmmmm... I wish I would have thought of that design." kind of things.

Congrats landshark1.. very nice theater eek.gif - I remember seeing your thread, going to have to revisit it for more details..

I love the panel idea, they look great and are functional. I haven't read the build thread yet but I plan on doing so.

Black ceiling, check.

definitely! i think it's a much better decision to paint the ceiling black and leave the walls a brighter color if you need to make that compromise.

his theatre room still looks very inviting with the lights on. the black ceiling won't ruin that

We're about a week away from painting the ceiling. I had to take out the pot lights in this room but will have a nicely lit room (when its wanted).

VERY NICE! I would only go for a darker carpet, though... Great pic of you and your clones! cool.gif

I love seeing the HT of the month!! This one is another top winner!!
Awesome HT! Although the guy in the front row doesn't seem impressed.

Now to go scan the internet for other things I will be jealous of and never have.

That's awesome for how little you spent (Relatively speaking).

I wonder about the sprinkler system. I assume that was already there. I recently had a big room addition built onto my house in Rockville and code didn't require it. I had to install and egress window well, but no sprinklers.

I didn't keep all the receipt nor wanted to. tongue.gif The price tag is really a rough estimate. But hiring BigMouthDC & working along with him really save me some good money that's for sure!

From what i was told by the builder window & sprinkler system is a requirement for any room inside a house here in Montgomery county. It doesn't bother me, but I might paint them in black one day (as BigMouthDC been always poking me about them tongue.gif ).

It is probably one of my favorite builds on the forum. The only thing I'm wondering about is the rear bass trap. Is it not present in the pics? If not can we get one?
Actually - just refered back to your build thread where you currently have the panels Macgyvered. I think I can imagine what a leaning piece of acoustic treatment looks like biggrin.gif

Very nice. Isn't the feeling of finally being able to sit down and admire your work amazing? Then comes the itch to redesign wink.gif

How much does it cost to do an installation job like this one?

Gary - Great work by you and Jeff .. glad to see another DC Metro HT nominated!! In my mind, the staggered/random panels makes this room stand out. LOVE IT!! I also 'brighter' color palette that others have referenced. While not ideal for the pure videophile .. it feels more livable (for more than just a blockbuster movie night).
It's a great job you should be proud
That is just a thing of beauty there, very nice work.
