Get rid of that toe fungus commercial!

That grotesque thing keeps showing up and it makes me not want to come back here, because it literally makes me sick to my stomach in the 100 milliseconds it takes me to look away. I'm waiting for the ad for mutilated body parts disposal or something next. Yuk.

I haven't seen it. It sounds like a targeted ad. Have you been searching for fungus items recently? :)

If you can grab a screenshot & URL, I can submit it for removal if it's particularly bad.

Thanks

Nice!

@Dean Roddey I just need a URL so I can submit it for removal. So far none of us are seeing it anywhere.

Thanks

It's hard to tell exactly, but based on the layout, I would guess this is it:
Code:
<div id="sidebar-atf-ad" class="sidebar-ad"><div id="div-gpt-ad-8810354328358242-2"><script type="text/javascript">googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-8810354328358242-2'); }); </script></div><div style="margin-top: 20px;"><div id="div-gpt-ad-8810354328358242-31"><script type="text/javascript">googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-8810354328358242-31'); }); </script></div></div></div><div class="sidebar-module sidebar-thread-images">

But I have the whole page if you need it.

Of course now that I typed something about it, it's showing up even more. I have to say that, in general, the degree to which AVS now collects information about us and seemingly stores information on our computers to be shared with other folks in return for money, is also starting to creep me out more than a bit.

Surely if anyone knows a way around that it would be you ??!!

Nah, Homey don't play that way. I see that like people stealing music to 'protest' music prices or other silliness of that type. You should either use a product as it is provided, or don't. If you continue to use it, but get around whatever it is in some non-approved way, your visible consumption continues to validate the actions you don't approve of, while simultaneously giving up any right to the moral high ground at the same time. The fact that so many people take this sort of approach to the internet is another thing I find sort of unsettling, to be honest.

Haven't seen it and my full page pop-up's are gone. All is well.

Dean,

I think you're reading more than intended into my comment. I was simply referring to "incognito" mode in Chrome or something like that.

And, BTW, I'm with you on the whole piracy issue. I have about 1,000 CDs and 200 DVDs + BRs ripped onto my NAS drive and every single shiny disc is in storage. I also drive my kids crazy banging on about buying what they want.

Cheers,
