It would be cool to just have one post where someone could put together all graphs where they are modeling one driver (how about the Dayton HO since the SI won't be available soon...and they are both ABOUT the same performance-wise) in the original Marty!, miniMarty!, and the MartyCube compared to the same driver in a 4 cu ft sealed sub.
I guess it is just about it being a one-stop post/shop to answer the most common questions about MartySubs....size, approx weight, tune, spl graphs...what else. There is probably an easy top-5 set of questions that can be answered and the rest are details?
Chaluga...if your original post had this info, or a later post, it would be your sales offering if you will...an all in one place for the uninitiated to find and order. Most folks would rather look in one place than search the threads or even click through links...no?
Wow , busy thread this morning. I slept last night dreaming of small Martycubes !
I can definitely update the first post with info from the three main types of Marty's which are :
1) Original Marty 24 by 24 by 48" tune to 17hz ; 11 cuft
2) Mini Marty 24 by 24 by 40" tune to 17hz; 9 cuft. Had same performance of original marty because port length was bottom and back. (Ryan & Myself were going to build this one)
Atabea's version was 24 by 30 by 36 "
3) Martycube 24 by 24 by 24" tuned to 20hz ; 5 cuft. I believe the performance as ltd's chart indicates compared to the original and mini marty is down 4dbs at 20hz, and 1.5-2dbs at 25hz.
For me with two of these and one having uxl driver thats great considering the improvement to my living room. With other previous smaller subs it was usually closer to 8-10 dbs drop around 20hz and that was too big a drop for me.
If I had a dedicated home theater room and these were behind screens I would go with the mini marty to get all the performance. In my current setup the Martycube underneath my main speakers will look really good
I plan on building martycube tuesday, putting the finish on tuesday and wednesday and then bring it home wednesday afternoon. I'll take out my si18 driver from my original marty and drop it in the new one and wire it up and fire it up. If all goes well then I will build a second one thursday with jbrown. I will take plenty of pictures for a build thread. I can see how the demand for this martycube would be big. Bigger then I would want to handle so it would be good to see Erich with a flatpack.
For those who don't want to wait 1-2 months for Erich could maybe order from me. By Wednesday I will know the performance, weight, etc of this and can determine how much I would charge.
