Automating multiple heating sources via one single thermostat? Which thermostats and system?

I am building a C4 automated condo, and would like to add a nice smart thermostat to tie it all together.

I'd like to do the following:

Living Room:
- Heating: Fireplace, AND Baseboards
- Cooling: Air Condition
- Current Control: One single programmable thermostat for both baseboards and AC. Fireplace is manually controlled via switch

Desired:
- Use one Smart Thermostat (Nest is #1 choice, or Ecobee, or what C4 provides)
- Program it so it can control the following: (1) set of baseboards, (2) one fireplace
- Main program: Keep temperature at desired settings by first turning fireplace, and then if that's not enough heat, to turn the baseboards on
- A SECOND program, to only turn baseboards
- Ability to switch between the two
- Thermostat should also control a separate AC system for summer

Right now, the fireplace has its own electrical switch, which I'd like to replace with a C4 wireless switch.

Dining:
- Only one basic thermostat + baseboards
- No AC venting or control here

Desired:
- A newer thermostat, tied into overall system

Bedroom 1:
- Only one basic thermostat + baseboards
- No AC venting or control here

Desired:
- A newer thermostat, tied into overall system

Bedroom 2:
- Heating: Baseboards
- Cooling: Air Condition
- Current Control: One single programmable thermostat for both baseboards and AC.

Desired:
- A newer thermostat, tied into overall system controlling both AC and Heat.

---

So, based on the above, I need 4 thermostat.s. Two must be programmable and control both heat and cooling, while ONE must be able to also control fireplace via wireless C4 switch, and 2 to be more basic while I'd still like them to be integrated.

Questions:
1. What are my thermostat options? I prefer Nest overall, but not sure how it could integrate with C4, AND how it could control both fireplace and baseboards
2. For basic 2 thermostats, is there something I could find that easily integrates with C4 at a minimal cost? Is there a honeywell, Ecobee or similar product? I'd like it to look nice.
3. How can it all be programmed via C4 HC-250?

Thanks!

I do not know C4 very well, but from what I know I do not think that you will be able to have it programmed to turn on Fireplace, then wait to turn on baseboard. You should contact a local C4 dealer to find out if the system is even capable of this. If it is then the Thermostat used could be any thermostat C4 controls.

You may want to also ask HVAC professional if there's a good way to set up the system to make the baseboard an "Aux" heat source. Not sure if that's possible.

I know a URC Total Control system (not currently using URC's thermostat, but a 3rd party thermostat) can be programmed for such a delay. As other, more expensive systems.

Thanks, what I actually think could accomplish this, is simply do the following:

- When C4 controls the heat, for it to automatically turn the fireplace on as well... this way thermostat turn baseboard on, C4 wireless key turns fireplace on
- When temp reaches the desired, the thermostat automatically turns off the baseboards. Fireplace continues...
- BUT, I do not know if there's a way that fireplace can be *turned off* when temp raises above desired...

You'd need a Temp sensor. not sure if C4 can use them or do that, but they should be able to. That's definitely one way of doing it. I know Total Control can, kind of, but will have full compatibility very shortly with a slew of Wireless Zwave sensors or wired sensors that can trigger the system to do whatever you want it to, like turn off the fireplace. And that is going under the assumption that the fireplace is controllable.
