Connecting my new BIC f12 to my laptop

I just ordered a BIC F12 subwoofer forĀ about $190. I know the BIC F12 has a mono RCA input. My plan is to use a single rca cord that goes from the subwoofer to my aux in my computer. I have an RCA to aux cable that I use with my computer. Will this work?

So you just hooking up a subwoofer to the laptop what other speakers do you have? Does your laptop have multiple headphone outputs?

I have an aux splitter for my computer so I can plug in two aux cords. I have a set of logitech desktop speakers, but will most likely look to upgrade those. I just love bass, so I got the subwoofer now. I currently have a 12 inch kenwood car sub wired up to an amp and a PSU that's hooked into my laptop. I'm assuming the BIC F12 will sound much better in my room than the kenwood?

Most laptops I know of have a a combined left/right stereo output with a 3.5mm jack. You could use a 3.5mm to RCA in that case and run one of the channels to the BIC F12. Of course the sub wouldn't be producing the bass for one of the channels.
