So it has come to fruition! The time is nigh! This started out as a fun little trip for a couple guys to grab some excellent woofage from our buddy Nick at Stereo Integrity, and now is going to be an event not to miss! It will be taking place in fabulous Asheville NC at my house. What is on the docket? Well, enjoyment of my theater space as it stands right now, along with a nice excursion into the realm of possibilities for the new Stereo Integrity 24" subwoofers. We will have several present and I am currently talking with some of the attendees about the different orientations we want to try out with them. We are considering:

~Dual opposed ported/sealed IB

~Sealed 10-15 cuft box

~Massive 40 cuft LLT tuned to between 12-14hz. This one will likely have to replace my bar on the third row of the theater, but should be fun to see a 4x8x2 foot box with a massive driver mounted to it
Moving the thing will be tough and this one is for sure still on the drawing table. I will need to procure some more plywood to make it happen

Content will include all the favorites from several of the demo discs, along with some great tunes perhaps from Gorilla83's g2g's and my own personal stash of 6,000 tracks. There are also some (hopefully) good Basketball games taking place that evening that once our ears are done bleeding we can partake in and enjoy over some grilled burgers or steaks or whatnot. I am all ears for additional suggestions, but as it stands we will have my setup with the Danley SH50's, 8 sealed SI 18HT's, 2 JBL 2242's, and 2 RE XXX 18's in a ported IB, along with surrounds that are of the same ilk as the DIYsoundgroup's volt10's and my own personal Beyma 8" coaxial design. Jeff (coach) will be bringing along his Noesis 212's to have a little fun with as well.

I am thinking that I want to limit this thing to around 15-20 or so guys as my theater has comfortable seating for 8-9, with room made for another 3-4 easily, standing room for another couple folks, and past that, it would get a little tight. So far the tentative attendee list is:

Gorilla83

Popalock

ChopShop

Electrodynamic

16hz Lover

Coach

Mike W

Dgage

reefdvr27

Kevin M

NathanJ

ambesoleman

jagercola

Asoofi

Bosso

Paul

Potentials:

Tony123

I haven't figured out lodging yet but there is a Days Inn almost walking distance from my house that is an option, or there are other hotels a little closer into town (5-7 minute drive) that might be a little better. I will link here to those once I look at the rates and see what is the most economical for anyone needing a room. I feel like a good start would be between 9-10am on Saturday, and basically just letting the g2g play out for the rest of the day. Who knows where it will take us!

I will continually update this post with any new info, as well as the attendee list, but once again I am open to some other fun suggestions of what type of content/listening we will do during the course of the g2g. Looks to be shaping up into a great time! Let me know via the thread or PM if you are interested in also attending, and stay tuned for some fun updates!

I'm looking so forward to this!! Very excited to get back together with you guys and have some good times! I have all the gear for the new full active seosr, but they won't be able make an appearance this time...I have a feeling I'll just want to sit and listen to those SH50s all day

I am tempted. It is a 5.5 hour drive from my place.

Sorry. Was on my phone.

Dude! This is one sweet batch of speakers and subs you have. I have always been interested in experiencing your HT room.
And holy crap, especially lately.
Dem JBL's up front and your new towers of bass. I keep forgetting that you have the XXX18's still in a bandpass, right? That's gotta lay waste to what I've got going on. I'm lagging behind the elite. Guess I got to keep on my toes.

So do I hear you right in that you are going to build one (or all?) of those systems in the first post? That LLT should be wicked awesome.
But don't drop it on anyone.

Wish I could come to one of these. Take lots of pics and vids!

I could have settings to you by then, I'll send them extra early on the 5th

Actually with the miniDSP's all I would do is send you the DSP file then you would just load it onto the three boxes. A couple clicks each and you are done, it's way easier.

With that attendee list, I'm sure it will be a great time, but I don't believe I can make it.

The RE's aren't fully bandpassed. Right now it is a ported IB. That is where some of the 24's could go. As far as the 40 cuft ported, I am contemplating it still
I know I won't have much time to do that, but my main concern is what to do with it once we are finished with the meet, haha!!!

Spring break 2014, AVS style.

Beast, I'll bring the ice luge.

Solid! Maybe it will be warm enough finally that we can set that bad boy up outside and have some fun

That would be great Matt, the problem more lies in the logistics. I have to haul home the 8 24" ers from SI and I have no idea how I'd fit even two of the 215Seosr's and 8 24s. Now if I ship the woofers...hmmmmmmm
I would love to show off the full active, fine tuned seosrs to get the nay-sayers attention.

Hopefully one of the "young" guys can help me carry my Noesis downstairs.....Based on what I have read, I am the "old" one in the group.

I'd be glad to help you Coach.

"You guys on the east coast have all the fun
"

Heck you guys in the mid-west and east coast have all the fun
Sounds like another fun event. I'll be looking for updates from the even.

There is a big GTG in Northern California this weekend. I booked a ticket this week from Kansas City for $282 round trip! I'm visiting two AVS members' home theaters in KC tonight and flying into California tomorrow morning and spending 3 days at RMK!'s house. It will be a great weekend!

c'mon, either pursue the complex trash can sub Mark wanted to do, or the bathroom IB

or just keep it simple and go with the obvious ... cl-iso-6th-bp-ullt

compound loaded, isobaric 6th order band-pass über large low tuned

or close couple all eight to a custom seating riser, low pass it around 16hz, and enjoy!
