Guys I'm really annoyed. I bought a sony 55 KDL-W805a IPS panel. Thinking it was going to be a superb panel . By superb I mean in terms of color gammut and accuracy and vibrancy. saying blue would have all the gradient on blue , red ,green and so on. After buying the tv I started fiddling around with it's settings cause I felt the colors didn't come out from the screen. I felt gradients of the colors weren't like I supposed it would have been.

By this I'm talking cause my eye it's been accostumed to my old Panasonic 32LZ800 which has an IPS alpha panel . This panel I think it's manufactured by LG right? . Well when I went to the sonystore I took my camera and a magnifying glass and checked the pixel pattern it was indeed IPS inverted V's. But I think my eyes are used to IPS-alpha which is compeltely different to IPS pixel pattern.

So my question is , are there any 55 inches LED tv's with IPS-alpha panels with great color accuracy , gammut ? I just can't understand why the panel on this sony doesn't reproduce all colors like my panasonic.

IPS Alpha panels are rare as hens teeth in LCD TVs and mostly showed up in smaller sets (and mostly released by Panasonic).

You have a gem.

Yep I know . That's why i'm breaking up my head trying to find something similar on 55 inches. Do you know what's the closest tv I can get on 55 inches similar to the IPS alpha I got ? I honestly thought the Sony was going to be definitely the set with the best color accuracy and input lag was 6 ms !!! . Now I don't know what to get .

S-IPS panels are best with off axis color accuracy natively but they have poor black levels and sometimes the filters used to bring the black levels down interfere with off axis performance on those.

I would look at LGs offerings. And the Vizio M551D. Both of which use LG S-IPS panels.

Well I've already checked LG's 55LA6200 directlit led, and 55LA6600 edge lit, and colors nothing at al compared to panys. I live in argentina so vizio I won't be able to find. Only Philips 8008 which has a PSA panel, LG has IPS but pixels look like an inverted V I don't know honestly if with some adjustments the LG 's would end up looking like my pany, but how I've already seen them I didn't like at all the colors. It's a shame cause the sony 805A had almost no noticeable input lag 6ms lowest from all. LG's have around 30 I think. So I think I won't be able to find a good panel

Toshiba 6200u (in the US) from 2012 were top notch with input lag.

Im not familiar with Philips quality stuff as they dont sell that in the US. They abandoned this market. They put their good stuff out in Europe. So ask some Europeans about the Philips sets.
