Thanks.

Just picked this up last night for the wife: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/t...ype=prd_detail

It is replacing her old DLP. Good stuff. Incredible picture with Blu-ray.

Turkey Day is almost upon us. 1999 Dom Perignon before dinner, 2001 Caymus with the bird. What is everyone drinking for Thanksgiving ?
Bud.

And only two at that. Friday is a work day at 5:30 AM, and my middle aged brain doesn't handle alchohol like it used to.

Monster Vodka tonight. Turkey is brining now. Hits the oven mid day tomorrow.
We enjoy this champagne punch that we make on the holidays. It has a whole bottle of vodka and two bottles of champagne... plus some other stuff which I forget, the women make it. It's nice and light and we enjoy it whilst the bird is cooking.

Here's wishing all my boozin' & cruisin' buddies on AVS a very happy Thanksgiving. I raise my glass. Cheers

That's a mighty fine looking bird, Kipp. I just ate, but damn! I could nibble on that.

Ok, I got the recipe for the punch. It's very simple. 1 bottle of vodka, 1 bottle of champagne, 1 bottle of white wine, 2 liter of ginger ale & frozen white lemonade concentrate. Mix it all together and float an ice ring. It's very light... but dangerous.

Wabo,
I was just talking to the wife about that punch. What size bottle of vodka, 750ml or 1.5L?

That's awesome, Kipp.

It's a 1 liter bottle of vodka.

If you make it, let me know what you & the Mrs. think!

The weekend is upon us, so I thought I'd give a bump-out to all my rowdy AVSers.

Old man winter is here, and he's bringing the bitter coldness with him.

I thought it's perfect weather for a White Russian. "You make a mean Caucasian, Jackie."

I'm usually a Jack&Coke kinda guy in the Winter, Martini's in the Summer
But Santa has one of these under the tree for me this year ...

It has two settings for Shaken or Stirred.

Seems like a frivolous thing to have, but at $29, My G/F said it was only $4 more than a new stainless steel shaker alone,
which I needed anyway...plus she knows I'm a sucker for electric gadgets

On the way home today I'm stocking up at the Liquor store...
Bombay Sapphire Gin, Grey Goose Vodka, Martini & Rossi Extra Dry Vermouth, Lemons, Olives (and some Cranberry juice for the G/F)

...

My version of the Vesper Martini:
3oz. Vodka, 2oz. Gin, 1oz. Vermouth, shaken with ice , poured into a chilled 10oz martini glass with a lemon twist

I'm off work from Tomorrow until January.
Time to break out my James Bond Blurays

Dr. No
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball

Casino Royale
Quantum of Solace

(Sean Connery and Daniel Craig..the only two worthy of the 007 role IMHO)
