Damn that sounds painful.

I'll be stopping at my liquor store after work today and hope they have this. BUT, I won't be going home right away, so it'll be sitting in my car, in Dallas, in +100 degree heat, for probably 6 hours or more. Am I running the risk of ruining it (or any spirit exposed to extreme heat) due to the heat? That would make me very sad.

Who doesn't enjoy a juicy meat joke?

I would avoid having this bake in your car for 6 hours. If it's 100° outside, think what the internal temp of you car will be. That's just bad juju for a quality spirit.

I agree. It'll probably be close to 130 in the car at 4-5 this afternoon. I'm REALLY starting to NOT like Texas summers! The problem is, liquor stores are few and far between so it's about a 45 minute drive if I don't hit the one on my way home from work. I'm thinking that maybe it won't be as hot down in the spare tire tub in the trunk of my car, but I'll run that idea by the clerk at the store. Unfortunately bars aren't permitted to sell package goods like they can where I'm originally from.

Cheap styrofoam cooler and some ice?

...Would've probably been a good idea. Suggestion much appreciated. I made it home after a long night of some serious partying with my gang, and I'll see how the Bushmill tastes after a good cool-down period.

Ho made crab stuffed pastry
Nachos (both chicken and steak)
Cheese and prosciutto covered flat bread
Panko breadcrumb covered mozzarella balls (wth ranch dip)
Shrimp and cocktail sauce
Pasta salad with feta/kalamata olives/cheese sauce
Brie in pastry cups covered in chocolate
Lots and lots of alcohol.

That's quite the spread, sb. Even the ho crab pastry. Reminds me of an old joke. The teacher asks little Johnny to use the word hotel in a sentence. Little Johnny thinks, then says, my uncle gave this girl crabs, and the ho tell everyone.

Watched Sucker Punch last night. I kept telling myself it will get better. Nope. The only thing I could do was kick up the rum to Coke ratio in my cocktails.

I didn't want to tell you that I had very little hope that you'd like it, so I just told you how bad *I* thought it sucked.

At least you had the Bacardi...

Well the regular old Bushmills seemed to survive the heat, and I finished it up yesterday (Black Bush was pricey so I passed on it). Now you guys have me thinking about Rum so I think I'll try a bottle of Appleton Estate for the first time, this weekend. Strange thing is I seem to have lost my taste for coke in anything. It's been many many years since mixing rum or bourbon with it. Sprite/7up seems to be the mixer of choice these days but sometimes that's too sweet for me. Maybe some Ginger Ale this time, but I'll certainly first try the AE rum straight up/on the rocks. I'll report back my findings in due course.

^ I'm the same way with coke now. My drink of choice the last few times has been Bailey's (caramel flavor) mixed with the Appleton rum on crushed ice. More like a desert drink, but damn good.

Went to Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs exhibition tonight. Or King Tut as he's known on the street. At the end of the exhibit you come out into the gift shop. I just had to buy this. I be drinking with the Pharaohs. Boo-yah!

And what up with Sucker Punch? I don't want to piss on the SP thread but what a lame movie. After the first scene I could never really get involved with what was going on and, what's worse, the eye candy wasn't great.

I read Mr. Potts' review of "The Dude's" flick, and even though it's one of my all-time favorite Jeff Bridges movies, it was good to read his ratings regarding the Blu-ray PQ and AQ, so it's in my Amazon cart for purchase. Too bad I have to wait 'til Friday (payday) to purchase it, so I think I'll rent it for the weekend.

Edit: Hmmmm... seems as though there is much controversy surrounding the Blu-ray release of TBL. PQ not too good? I don't care. This is going to be a great addition to my small but growing BD collection!
