We've been experiencing record setting temps this week. It's only March but it feels like late June. Currently it's 79° and sunny out and I'm chillin' on my deck.

That's crazy.

I did my run two days ago in 34 degrees and snowing. Today it was 60.

Jim beam red stag and coke for an adult cherry coke...

And to think I thought the person who brought it over was nuts with that one....

I used to drink Jim Beam years ago,
So when I saw Red Stag show up at the local liquor store I had to try it.



I also grabbed a coke, that never got used.
Poured one straight shot first (about 3oz) into a chilled rocks glass and Wow it was smooth!

Never did open that coke,
but man did that bottle of Red Stag ever go down fast!

Hmm... Red Stag just showed up at my local liquor store too...

Cherry Bourbon? Okay, I'm game.

Sweeter than what I was expecting, but also very cherry. Tried on-the-rocks and mixed with Sprite Zero, and I liked it. When I bring my sense of smell into the equation I get a fragrance of cherry tobacco from a pipe.

Anyway, out on the town tonite, on a beautiful Texas evening for some BEER testing. Always good times with the gang!

I agree 100%, I think perhaps a little too sweet, specially if you added coke to it.
I guess it's really more a liqueur than a bourbon, reminds me of Southern Comfort.

I suspect the new Jack Daniels "Honey" has the same characteristics
going to sample that one next.

In my middle-agedness I can't handle booze like I used to. That said, the three Budwiesers I just guzzled sure gave a nice buzz to go along with the LP's I'm spinning.

Going through a litany of beverages, trying to find the right combo and ending up with enough different drinks to end up with the WRONG combo. Beer, check, daiquiri, check, margarita, check, captain&coke, check, upset stomach , CHECK.

Nice problems to have,
I woke up to 3" of fresh snow Sunday morning
it's all melted now, but I'm ready for some summer weather already!

BTW, sampling the new Jack Daniels Tennesee Honey right now.
Two thumbs up from me, not too sweet with just a hint of Honey.
Nowhere near as sweet as Red Stag, funny I thought the Honey would be the sweeter of the two, which is why I was putting it off.

I almost grabbed a bottle of KAH reposado (110 proof) in the orange skull. $70 up here
I'm saving that one for the Easter weekend, just in case getting up the next day is a struggle...

I have the KAH silver tequila at home. It's smooth stuff.

I'm sitting on a plane right now, waiting to take off. They boarded us way too early. Reminiscing of the week we just spent in San Fran.

There's nothing better on a hot day than a cold Corona. Well, perhaps a gin & tonic.

Made the annual spring break drive to Minneapolis and picked up my quota of Surly Brewing products.

Picked up three of the pictured below - Furious, Cynic, Bender and also grabbed the Bitter as well. Was just a little too early to get the Hell which I was able to snag last year. I'm hoping to get down there again and tour the brewery.

Half Pints Brewing Company's Little Scrapper IPA - very hoppy.

Not as many micro's up here as there should be, but between Half Pints and Fort Garry, I'm ok with my breaks between Surly adventures.

Square shot glasses are unacceptable and should be banned!

Well I attempted my first Long Island Iced Tea, but it just tastes like the individual ingredients. Even when I let it sit so it can delute a bit and the "top it with cola" can infuse, it more or less just tastes like the cola at that point. Kicks my ass though. Anyway, should I stir the ingredients before drinking?

BTW, I didn't have any gin on hand so I doubled up on rum...
