Tired 'sum bitch here. Cleaned the backyard last evening before playing in a live two table poker tourney (got knocked out in the middle, trip 8's against trip 9's), and shampood all the friggin' carpets in our two story home today. Cold Bud, listening to Chris Isaak's "Mr. Lucky" and Pink Floyd's "The Division Bell" on the stereo now. Thinking about slapping on the new Blu ray of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" after dinner.

Soldier on.

Anytime I see that "Jive Turkey" has posted here I feel compelled to stop in. That's got to be one of the better usernames on this forum, and it brings back some fun memories. smile.gif (Think I'm ready for some Pink Floyd if I say so myself.)

Well my HTPC is pretty much done; been having a blast playing Borderlands 2, and I'm trying out XBMC as the media player. My goal is to at some point cut the FiOS cord, mainly because I hate their POS DVR, and get back to the OTA basics with Netflix.

Anyway, picked up some Sam Adams Octoberfest today and I must say it's a pretty good lager with a blend of 5 roasted malts. It's surprisingly smooth.for a rich brew.

However,

Tonite, and due to the 90 degree heat here in D/FW today, me is enjoying my own version of a Texas favorite: Mar...ga....RITAS! cool.gif

I'm not a slacker! Err... I'm not sober! I'm drinking Margaritas while watching my 'horns beat up on OSU. "Hook 'em"!! And watching Bo Pellini have an annurism (sp?) during the Huskers vs Badgers game. Shitloads of football tonite, and cheerleaders too!!! biggrin.gif

Hi all,
Mike's Harder tonight, saw this on the way home!

Thought I'd share some words of wisdom from our old pal, Cliff Clavin. Cheers.biggrin.gif

Cliff Clavin's buffalo theory: “Well, you see, Norm, it’s like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it’s the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine."

I subscribe to that theory. cool.gif

While I almost never cruise the AVS Forum intoxicated, I believe one of the best reasons to have your own home theater is the fact you can watch great movies with great friends while drinking great wine !! That said, don't let your friends get drunk and spill wine on the carpet ( it's happened to me - had to crawl around with Wine Out and paper towels during Star Trek not long ago ). Might be a good reason to have an all black theater ( although that could lead to even more wine spills during those fade to black scenes ) !cool.gif

Three Buddies just showed up with their kids, Smile BIG for the camera guys' !!!

I haven't been around for a while, mostly enjoying the great outdoors before my annual Winter Hibernation in the Man-Cave.
Snow is on the way so I've loaded up the Voodoo Guitar Lounge with some Great new toys and some high octane Agave Nectar. Day of the Dead aka Halloween coming soon wink.gif

Last Night I fired up the ol' PJ dropped the big 120" for the first time in months and watched Madagascar 3, HOLY CRAP!!! its very Good
I almost forgot how impressive my 4 year old Epson 1080UB is, even by today's standards. I'll have to put it on again and get some screen shots.

I like Woodford. And I must say your house is much higher than mine. 35k is an impressive sea level to build at. You must have lungs like a machine. May I call you Darth?

Looks like somebody's imbibing today. Good to see you're living up to your signature. Now go watch Prometheus and like it, dammit.tongue.gif

So where you off to Wabo? Hope its somewhere warm...I hate when Winter starts in October...fricken snow!

My sub's need a workout so right after that I think I'll put on The Cabin in the Woods
post #2093 of 2179
Hey Pio.

Actually I'm coming back, am back. It's getting cold here too. Winter's coming.

Now it's time to pour a stiffy and fire up the DVR and watch Syfy's Rise of the Zombies.

Sb1 has been slacking in the drinking department and has made some questionable calls.tongue.gifI still think he like Prometheus.

Nothing like a nice 18 year old to make you feel young again lol!

I strung about 50 feet of Chistmas lights and garland on the front veradah at 0 degree temps today

with a some 18 year scotch to keep me warm.

Wow, this thread has been dry for over a week?

Why does it seem everytime I fall off the wagon, everyone else jumps back on confused.gif
