I got the bump e-mail last night for this thread, but my fabulous cable modem service went out right afterward. Since I am no longer intoxicated, I shall refuse further comment.... for at least another hour or two

Yeah, it is a fun thread.....

If your display is out of calibration, just have a few beers. Once the beer googles are on, everything looks good!!!
I helped out a forum member who needed calibration of his plasma:

turns out he lives 2 minutes away from me and is a wine connoisseur with an impressive wine cellar: in return for my help, he turned me on to some excellent Merlot's and Cab's

Funny, though I have determined his display seems to require recalibration every week

hey mark! FDOFLMAO!

i'm thinking of introducing the wine & vine PQ enhancement system.

designed for one evenings use to gradually improve your PQ! after full installation, PQ improves until you pass out on the couch.

i assume you're available for a beta - test?

WHOA! a fifth of bourbon and a 2 liter coke? that's industrial calibration!

Thanks Kipp for making it fun again to visit this forum. We really needed some humor and that " don't worry be happy" type of vibe around here for a change( and you can tell that by the number of veiws to this thread).

That is great to hear.... BTW, check out Black Opel cab/merlot blend. Very inexpensive. I highly recommend it. 1998 and 2000 were great years. The 2001 that still can be found is wonderful too.

Very nice!

As for myself:

Jones Bubblegum Soda with Gordon's Deluxe Vodka (60/40 split).

Current time is 1:30 pm, and I'm ready for a refill.

I would love to be a beta tester:

I am not sure if the perceived quality of audio/video is enhanced by the grape: additional testing is required

Hey Dee,
that sounds quite good, I think I may have to try that this afternoon. Thanks for the tip. Enjoy.

Mark,
I am requesting that you perform many upon many tests just to confirm your results are accurate.

The Jones soda/vodka combo (while tasty) ended up being way too sugary for having skipped breakfast, so balancing it by scarfing down some leftover egg fried rice. Considering either Rolling Rock or Campari with soda water for the next beverage.

Dinner party for 6.

Appetizer
Roasted Vegetable Caviar
Whitefish and Cheese Spread on Biscuits
2000 Ferarri-Carano Chardonnay

Salad
Mesclun with Roasted Peppers and Feta
2002 Christopher Creek Viognier

Entre'
Wine Braised Lamb Shanks with Herbes de Provence
Potato and Turnip Gratin
Garden Vegetables with Mint and Basil Butter
Christopher Creek 2001 Reserve Syrah
Limerick Lane 2000 Zinfandel, Collins Vineyard, 90 YO Vines

Dessert
Chocalate Ganache
Huxelrebe Trockenbeerenauslese Dessert Wine

Grand Marnier Snifters in the HT.

The meal was incredible. The wines were superb. Everyone was satiated and inebriated when we settled into the HT for a few selected scenes. As good as all the precedants were, the highlight of the evening was the HT. The "OOOHHH's" and "AAAHHH's" at the PQ and image size exceeded the exclamations of excellence for the food and wine.

The friends are gone and I'm ready for bed. Yet, here I am, "Cruising the AVS Forum while intoxicated..."

It doesn't get any better than this...

Craig
