Will Duties disappear for lower cost RPTV’s on January 1?

Hi All:

___ I posted this same message over at the Home Theater Forum with little or no response. Maybe someone over here has an idea regarding this subject. I have read posts discussing the possible lifting of some duties on the CRT/Guns in RPTV’s and FPTV’s? The supposed disappearance of these duties should happen on January 1. Has anyone heard anything else about this? If this is true, what can we expect in terms of lower cost HD RPTV’s? Are the duties currently $500.00? Possibly $1,000.00? Last but not least, if it is true, when do you think the average consumer will benefit?

___Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated since my RPTV purchase will happen in the first week of February.

___Thank You

I seriously doubt will see any price break from this happening. Or if we do if will be of a small percentage and we wouldn't see it for years. These companies are moving these big screen TV's pretty well now and have no real incentive to pass the savings along to the consumer.

Don't speak too soon - I think the average consumer will benefit sooner than you think.

There's quite a lot of competition - that's the incentive.
